The sun was setting behind the hills. A man sat out on the porch of the cabin, looking out at the sunset.

A tall guy came up behind him. "You know, you look like an old man when you do that."

The other turned to him, raising an eyebrow. "I suppose if you're calling me old, you're also saying your mother is. She is my age, after all."

The tall guy's face paled significantly. "Oh, please don't tell her!"

The man's grim face turned into a smirk. The taller one knew that his comment would somehow come up in a conversation, and he would be in for it when it did.

Resigned to his fate, he changed the topic. "So, Dad, any news?"

The man's face changed back to the grim look. "No. Crowley's been looking for clues, but there's no sign. It's like these people we're looking for can vanish."

"Isn't that supposed to be your hobby?" the tall one joked.

"Hmm..." the man said, ignoring his son and seeming to not have paid attention to what he'd said. He felt like there was something missing in this case he and the others were working on, like there was more to the story.

He couldn't for the life of him figure it out.

"Come inside," he told his son gruffly. "I'll get coffee started."

The tall guy's face brightened. "Coffee?! What are you waiting for?!" He ran inside, fast as a lightning bolt.

He never would've admitted it, but the man couldn't help how the grim look on his face softened. Yes, there was time for coffee. He went inside, yelling for his son to not dump all the honey in his coffee. But his mind was still on the threat he'd been searching for.
