"Honey, Maybe you should wait before trying in vitro."
Your mom said trying deter you from your goal of having a baby.
"Mama. I didn't just think of this yesterday. I've been study for months and seeing doctors. This is what I want to do. I want to be a mother."
You said determined.

Your mother looked at you knowing you wouldn't let it go.
She smiled.
"You were always my most stubborn child. But also the smartest. I got your back."
You smiled and hugged her.
"Thanks mama."

8 months later

You were 6 months pregnant with twins. You were wobbling around the movie set of the movie you were directing, greeting everyone you walked by.
"Boss."
Your assistant called out.

You stopped and sighed but smiling.
"Brandon, I thought told you to call me y/n."
You said.
He scratched his head sheepishly.
"Sorry. But Mr.Evans is having problems with his costume."
You nodded.
"I'll go right away. Can you go get us some food?"
You asked.
"Anything in particular?"
Brandon asked.
You shook your head.
"No, just food."
You said laughing rushing off to Chris's trailer.

You walked in getting down to business.
"What's the problem?"
You asked.
"His Costume is too tight in the chest and arm areas."
The designer said.
"Um, can you just take out the padding?"
You asked Chris turning red out of embarrassment making you giggle.
"I can but I need three days."
The designer said.
You nodded.
"That's fine. I'll give everyone a break for those days."
You sighed rubbing your stomach.

"I would offer to buy you a beer but that's out the question."
Chris said laughing.
You smiled.
"Waffles or donuts with pickles will do."
You said laughing.
"Cool, I know a place."
He said with a radiant smile.
"I'll see you later?"
You asked and he waved being pushed to change out the costume.

It was the end of the work day for you and you began walking out to your car with your pepper spray out. You smiled tiredly when you saw Chris leaning against your car.

"Hey. You look tired."
He said with the same radiant smile.
You chuckled.
"Yeah, just a bit."

"We can do waffles and pickles another day."
He laughed at the words he said.
"Okay. I'm sorry. Plus, I totally forgot that I have to put the cribs together and the changing tables so that's how I'm spending my night."
You laughed softly.
"I can totally help. If you want help."
He offered eagerly.
"No, I can't accept that offer. You already have the stress of filming."
You said refusing.
"Okay, how about this? You buy dinner aka breakfast and I'll put the cribs and changing  tables together."
He negotiated.
"Oh, and I ride with you."
He added quickly making you laugh.
"Deal."
You laughed.
You both quickly got in your car and drove to your home.

You pulled up outside your home and Chris was admiring the architecture. But you weren't paying attention you just wanted to take off your. You opened the door turning off the alarm.  Chris walked in behind you.
"Your home is really beautiful."
He complimented.
"Thank you. But the compliment goes to my mom she the best interior designer I know."
You said putting your purse on the counter of your kitchen.
"You think if I ask she would do my house?"
He joked.
"Yeah, of course. Plus, she's a pretty big fan of yours."
You said opening the fridge grabbing a bottle of water to take your vitamins.
"Really?"
He asked laughing covering the right side of his chest.

"Yes, when she found out that you were in the movie she was trying to find a way to get on set."
You said shaking your head.
"Is it bad that I wanna meet her?"
He asked with a chuckle.
"Nah, you would like her."
You unlocked your phone and opened the uber eats app.
"Order anything you want and order waffles please. And help yourself to anything you want. I'll be right back."
You said headed up stairs.

You changed into sweats and a tank top. And went back downstairs.
"I ordered the food. So where's the nursery?"
Chris asked rubbing his hands together.
"Follow me Cap."
You said grabbing your phone leading him upstairs.
He quickly grabbed the box for the first crib and started putting it together carefully and quickly.
"So, how did you come to having your babies via sperm donor?"
He asked.
"I've always had a strong desire to be a mother since I graduated high school to be honest. I just wanted to have kids before I got to old to experience pregnancy."
You answered rubbing your belly sitting in a chair.
"I understand that all to well."
He said finishing the first crib.
You looked at Chris differently because that sentence.
"You should look into a surrogate."
He chuckled a bit.
"I'm a bit old fashioned."
The doorbell rung signaling the food was here.
You both went downstairs where Chris waited in the kitchen. You grabbed the food and met him there.

"I applaud you though. For doing what you want."
He said finishing his thought from upstairs.
"Its one of the things that made me attracted to you."
He said opening his container of food.
You looked up shocked.
"Really? Even now? Pregnant by some random man I don't know?"
You asked insecure for some reason.
He nodded.

"If I had the chance to be with you I would love your kids like they were my own."
He said looking at you with those piercing blue eyes.
You sat across from him dizzy from the revelations.
"Excuse me."
You made your way to the bathroom and threw up. You brushed your teeth and went back to the kitchen.
"Are you okay?"
He asked worried.
"Yeah. Chris, why didn't you say anything?"
You asked eating a pickle easing your upset stomach.
"I dont know."
With that it went quiet. You both sat there eating and thinking about the other.

"What do you call a Alligator detective?"
You asked.

"An investi-gator."
Chris said laughing.
You both went on to tell jokes and stories until you and him finished putting together everything.
You yawned.

"You wanna stay in the  guest room its pretty late?"
You asked.
"Are you sure I don't want to intrude."
You chuckled.
"Its fine. I like having you here."
You said guiding him to the room.
"There's an extra toothbrush under the sink. And blankets in the closet."
You said turning only for Chris to kiss you.
"I couldn't hold it in anymore."
He said sheepishly.
You kissed him back.
"Goodnight."
You said smiling.
He pulled you back.
"Stay."
You hesitated but complied.

You both laid down and he rested his hand on your stomach protectively. You put your hand on his fell asleep content with life in that moment. You wished Chris was the father of your sons but you didn't regret what you did. Never.
