It was the last week before they went on summer break and Alice couldn't wait to be on the beach sipping water from a coconut. She was now 9 weeks pregnant and still wasn't in love with the idea of it.
Life was chaotic at the moment and she didn't have enough time or energy to discuss anything with Lando. He was busy with racing, advertisements and also dealing with Quadrant. The little free time they had was spent at home where Max was usually third-wheeling much to Alice's annoyance.
They had been sulking at each other for the last couple of days because of a silly argument. Alice wanted to do something with Lando but he decided he was going to stream with Max. She was growing concerned that her boyfriend also wasn't too keen on the idea that they would become parents and all she wanted was to have a nice sit-down dinner and discuss what was happening. She told Lando that he was immature and he accused Alice of wanting to control his life and not letting him have fun with his friends. She was so upset that she made him sleep on the sofa in his own house.
Alice observed Lando pacing around the paddock. He was chatting with Jon but also kept glancing at her. He had to prevent her from getting her own room in Hungary as she was still mad at him, but Lando didn't want to leave her alone as she was a flight risk. They were sharing a bed, but nothing else.
It was an early start so Alice still hadn't had her breakfast. The end of the first trimester of her pregnancy was proving to be challenging. She was tired and moody. She got up from her desk to grab something to drink but noticed Lando getting ahead of her. She smiled as he still cared for her well-being even when they weren't on the best of terms. He came back shortly holding a cup and a sandwich.
"I've got some oat milk... I stole it from Danny's fridge actually."
Alice smiled as she held the drink. He cared enough to know she couldn't drink coffee anymore. She sniffed the sandwich and felt her stomach churning immediately.
"What's in this?" Alice asked pointing at the bread.
"Erm, it's a cheese sandwich..." Lando said visibly confused.
"Oh god." Alice got up quickly and ran to Lando's private bathroom. What great timing to finally be experiencing morning sickness. Lando followed her and closed the bathroom door behind them. He wasn't sure what to do as Alice got on her knees by the toilet. He decided to hold her hair and try to make her feel a little bit more comfortable.
"You don't have to stay..." Alice said but wishing he wouldn't leave.
"I'm not leaving you... this is partially my fault."
"Yeah, I'm not letting you put your dong inside me ever again!" Alice said while still retching but causing Lando to laugh.
"I'm sorry!" He said as he stroke her hair.
Her eyes were teary and Lando couldn't help but hug her. They sat side by side on the floor, Alice's head still on Lando's shoulder and his arm wrapped around her shoulder.
"I'm sorry for being a bitch." Alice said recognizing she could be overly dramatic at times.
"You're the bitch that's carrying my child. I am sorry too for not being more supportive."
Alice lifted her head from his shoulder momentarily as he had just referred to the lentil-sized person growing inside her as his child for the first time.
"Lando... I'm not sure I want this baby." She finally confessed the words that had been bothering her.
He swallowed hard not sure what to reply. He wasn't mad or anything. Lando understood that in the end, it would be Alice's decision.
