"Danny, what's wrong?" Alice had spotted Daniel sat on the floor, by a palm tree, with his head down. Surely, they were all fairly drunk at that stage of the evening, but he looked different. Alice sat next to him.
"I didn't want to say anything earlier, but Jemma and I broke up last week..."
"I'm so sorry. I had no idea! How are you holding up?"
"I was fine until that last song hit right in the feelings."
"You've been together for a while. Isn't there a small chance you will get back together?"
"I don't think so. We live too far away, and we just can't make it work..."
Alice had now kneeled in front of him and hugged him tightly. She felt so small when he started sobbing and just wanted to make everything better for Danny.
"Aww, my sweet honey badger. You are the greatest guy I've met; the funniest and the kindest. You deserve someone who loves you unconditionally and you will find her. Hell, if you were single when we met, I'd be all over you! You know... considering my resume so far..."
He let out one of his big guffaws.
"Only you to make me laugh! But I'd probably be all over you as well... I guess you have your hands full now with Charles and Lando."
"Yeah, it's more than I can and want to handle."
He hugged her back and then they got up to get a drink from the bar. Alice looked around for the others and couldn't find anyone nearby. She wondered if they had gone home.
"I think they're down at the beach..." Daniel said as he pointed to a group of people sat in a circle under a tent. They walked towards the group.
"What the hell are you guys conjuring?" Alice asked at the odd sight.
"We're playing spin the bottle, but truth or dare version." Max said with a big grin. He was looking for trouble. "We were waiting for you two to start playing. We have decided on the rules: the player at the bottom of the bottle points to can ask the player the bottleneck points to, "Truth or Dare" and if you take more than 10 seconds to reply or start your dare, you will need to remove a piece of clothing."
"Not another game where I'm gonna get a penalty!!" Lando shouted.
"I'm so drunk right I'm not even sure if I know how to count to 10!" Kelly exclaimed throwing her hands in the air.
"How do we decide who's the winner?" Daniel asked.
"We've got a full bottle of Smirnoff vodka that you will have to drink from after you complete a dare or a truth. When the bottle is over, the winner will be the one with the most clothes on." Max explained the rules.
"Yeah, I'm going to end up naked and DEAD!" Isa stated.
"Okay, let's play!"
It was already night-time and they were sitting under a pop-up tent that was illuminated by colourful globe string lights. Alice kneeled as it would be easier to move. They all stood in silence for a few seconds.
"Did we bloody decide who would spin first?" Blake pointed out.
"I would give the honours to whoever had this genial idea." Daniel suggested.
Carlos got on his knees and grabbed the bottle.
"Seriously? It was your idea?" Alice was shocked.
"What? I can be fun as well!"
"I just realised we only have 3 girls. I feel like I'm going to end up kissing a lot of dudes tonight." Max 2 said.
