Blythe's P.O.V.

Everyone in the cafe looks at me as I exclaimed

"Uh- sorry, just got caught off guard!"

They soon go back to minding their own business

"Ehehehe.."

I shoot Grayson a look and ask him through gritted teeth

"So Sir, what would you like?"

"Um, I'd like three caramel latte's and a coffee please, with cream."

He looks me directly in the eyes and says "We'll talk about this later." then takes the receipt and walks away.

Alright then mister- I didn't expect you to turn up here but here we are

You could've at least said 'hi'

Oh well might as well make the drinks

I made the lattes and the coffee with cream, quickly announce the order number and as expected, Grayson shows up

"So are we gonna talk? You said you'd text me after you finished work and you never did."

He sighs "I know Blythe, I just had a rough day yesterday with work."

He looks worried for a second before I respond "I understand, I had a rough day yesterday as well."

"Just make sure to let me know next time, okay?" giving a small smile

He smiles back, "I will."

He then takes the beverage tray

"Well then Blythe, I'll try to talk to you more often. Bye princess!"

"I- bye Grayson.."

Grayson's P.O.V.

Haha I could just see her flustered face from here!

Anyways now that I got the drinks it's just a small trip to Linda's and then I'll be home to work!

Somehow that sounds less exciting than it's supposed to

Oh well- It's work what do I expect?

I carefully take a sip of the hot coffee and reverse out of the driveway

The skies are a bright blue with fluffy clouds shading the sun from hitting everything directly on the Earth's surface

Man..

I'm not really one for nature but it really is a nice day out

Eventually I do arrive at Linda's and I am greeted with a very tight, not very comfortable hug.

"God Grayson, it's been so long since we've seen you! You've grown into such a fine young man!"

"Linda I've barely grown a inch since the last time I saw you. I really think it's safe to say I didn't change at all-"

"Oh hush your mouth Gray!" Linda cuts me off squeezing me tighter

"Linda be careful you're squishing me, I might drop the lattes." I state bluntly

She quickly let's go and apologizes

She then invites me inside her house which I can't turn down that offer; so we go inside

This has to be one of the best decorated houses I know

I mean, apart from my house-

But my house is only clean when it needs to be or when mother starts whining about cleanliness when there's one dust particle in the air

Anyways, I start talking to Linda and her friends, when the thought of Blythe comes in mind

I did ghost her for a bit for work didn't I?

I really need to make up for that

And I don't mean in by just talking to her regularly

No, that's just called basic human decency.

I feel like I should do something special for her

Maybe not now, not this week, that sounds kind of quick

I mean it's been how many days?  Three-four days? And I'm thinking of taking her on a date of some sort-

No

No.

It's not a date.

We will just hang out.

I really don't know what to make of this situation I'm in.

I mean- I really like Blythe

She isn't one of those girls who mother tried to pair me with.. or one who just mooched off my money.

Blythe in fact, knows nothing about my family, or my wealth

Which is good, it should stay that way.

She's so...honest with me

Like, she's so.. authentically herself

Never hides anything

I honestly didn't think people like this existed anymore

And.. I don't know what to do with these feelings about her

Maybe Linda would have some advice?

I patiently wait for the slightest chance they would pause their chat for even just a moment

"Hey Lin? Could I talk to you about something..in private?"

She looks at me confused

"Uh sure Gray."

We walk upstairs to the guest bedroom and lock the door

Linda looks at me "Alright Gray, this better be important. Olivia was just about to tell me about her neighbor-"

I chuckle slightly "Yeah yeah I know. I was intruding on some gossip."

She jokingly gives a looks of disbelief

"It wasn't gossip, just- interesting stories!"

We both laugh, she really is a good person to be around

"Back to the topic at hand, what did you need to ask me?"

Right, the main reason we're in the guest room away from any other people

"I wanted to ask you for advice."

"Advice about what exactly?"

"It's hard to say. I met this girl-"

"A girl you say?" Linda says raising her eyebrows

"No not like that Linda. Just let me explain"

*sigh*

"There's this girl that I met a while back and she has been really nice to me. And then I messed it up, I kind of ghosted her- and I just wanted to know how to make it up to her."

"Well you could-" She clears her throat

"You could try to make time to hang out with her. Take her out to the lake in the near-by park. Lots of ducks and such to feed."

You know that sounds a bit cliché but I'll take it

"Yeah I like that idea, thanks Linda!"

"No problem Gray!" She grins

"Now come on we still have guests to talk to!"

"Lin I still have work to do-"

It was too late, she had already dragged me downstairs to continue chatting with the others

It's going to be a long, long day.
