I wrapped myself inside the white robe I borrowed from Ingrid, swinging my feet with my pair of Adidas. I used to feel naked in front of this Freddie '84. He was 11 years older than me and it showed that powerful influence over me. He seemed to tell me with his eyes, "Whatever you're thinking, I've done it long before you". That feeling excited me.
- Ashlee, here you are. A trousers and a tshirt while your clothes are washing.
Ingrid cut again timely our duel of glances.
- Thank you.
She looked at both with half smile and got out the bathroom. I put on discreetly the trousers underneath the robe and then the tshirt. It fitted me well. Freddie was still waiting for my answer. I didn't find a lot of places to lay my eyes on but his face and it was getting a little bit awkward.
- I'm so patient like a cat waiting for the mouse to take a false step -he said suddenly.
I looked up my eyes to him brushing away the lank hair from my face. The dump grass had messed it up. Why couldn't I tell the truth?
- A stab on my back -I let out so quietly.
Freddie frowned stranged but with that glow of morbid curiosity in his beautiful dark eyes. As usual I couldn't control the level of intrigue that sparked on him. That sounded very heavy but that's just what it happened. No fables at all.
- I can't believe you. You? Which enemies do you have?
With each sentence he came closer till he sneaked his body between my legs. His face was already over mine, so close to mine.
- There is someone. And is lethal.
Once Freddie got intrigued, the feeling of self-fullfillment was enormous. He wasn't a man who got impressed easily. The years gave him some unbelief. And however, Ashlee Polley, a reckless journalist who never could interview him, managed always to take him aback. To mess with the preconception he had made about me.
- Really? -he whispered over my lips.
I nodded while I saw impotent as Freddie lifted up sweetly but firmly my tshirt and put his huge hand over my bandaged wound. It was cold and a shiver ran down my back, a very pleasant shiver.
- It throbs a little -he informed me.
Woww, probably my little sentimental heart had come down to my left side to welcome his hand with some throbbings. To tell him he had become the reason of my bloody existence.
- Are you telling me you were about to die? That's what you're saying?
- I lost a lot of blood and they had to remove my spleen. But I'm still standing -I forced a smile.
- I didn't expect less of you -he smiled still with his hand over my hurt side.
- Life is not easy, huh? -I consulted him suddenly locked in his eyes.
- Sometimes life is a shit -he pronounced very serious caressing in circles over my bandage while I closed my eyes so relaxed-. And sometimes sunny skies break through behind the clouds as before.
- Did you see it too? That huge dark cloud filling up with light? -I opened up my eyes again.
- What a coincidence just after that you appeared kneeling by me on the grass.
- Won't you ask me how I sneaked into your producer's private property? Aren't you worried?
He shook his head covering my wound again with Ingrid's tshirt.
- How long will you be with me this time? -he asked me then while he grabbed my hand to help me to standing up.
- Oh... well...
