SOPHIA’S POV
I woke up to the sunshine peeking through my windows. I turned myself to the other side since I wasn’t ready to open my eyes yet. My heart was still filled with agony. I was trying hard to forget all those mean things Calvin said to me. I know he has a reason and that his insecurities overpower all his thoughts. But what if this happens again? I don’t think there’s trust between us anymore. I know I do but what about him? And this can’t be the reason for us to break up too. A lie for his sake.
I ran fingers through my hair and screamed out in pain. I just couldn’t take all of this. It was too much.
“Hey, what happened.” Emma opened the door, all puffed up.
“Nothing. I am just disgusted with myself.” I let out a shaky breath.
“Calm down , Sophia. You asked for time. So take your time. Don’t pressurise yourself and why the heck are you disgusted?”
“I wanna forgive him but I can’t. I am such a horrible person. I know he’s got a reason. But his words kept ringing in my head.”
“You know just forget about what’s going for a while. Let’s go out. It will help you clear your head and you’ll be at peace for sometime too.”
“I don’t know about that Em.” I was in no mood. I just wanted drown in my own world.”
“Soph, I am requesting you please get off the bed, jump in the shower and get ready. You need this, girl.” Maybe Emma was right.
“Okay.” I hopped into the shower and took a long hot shower.
I wrapped my towel around to cover myself and searched my wardrobe deciding on what to wear. I picked out my denim jean and paired it with a floral tshirt. I wore my shoes and grabbed my shoulder bag.
I checked my phone and there was a message from Calvin about two hours ago, ‘good morning, Sophia’. I wasn’t ready to reply him yet. So I didn’t reply. I let out a sigh and called Emma.
“Em, I am ready. Are you done yet?” I asked.
“Yeah Sophia just a minute. I am almost done.” Emma spoke from her room.
“Okay, I am waiting.”
“Done, let’s go.” Emma locked her room and walked over to me.
“The cab’s here.” Emma said.
“What? Where are we going?”
“Shopping, girl. If you wanna be sad, it better be in your new summer clothes.” Emma said.
“What?” I chuckled out.
“I was hoping it made some sense. But your laugh clearly tells me how much sense it made.” Emma grinned.
“Thank you Emma. What would have I done with out you?”
“Saved your money. Because I’m gonna make you shop right now.”
“And so am I.” I’ll make you spend your money too then.”
“Oh, you don’t need me too. I was gonna spend it anyway.”
We reached the mall after some time. It took us sometime though considering the New York city traffic. We shopped a lot. I bought a bunch of clothes. But every thing reminded my of Calvin. I was so attached to him and I am now too. And I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get over him. That’s how much I love you Calvin.
