Chapter 19:
You can be king againI stared at the bulletin board in front of me with slit eyes and furrowed brows. I can feel my skirt swaying and hair flying with the morning wind. The air is cool and the atmosphere is full of warmth. I can say that this place can be or is part of my potential sanctuary. I'm still not sure if I'll like this school so I needed more time to think.
I am under the pavement's canopy near our school's gate, stuck in the way as my feet are continuously tapping, making my school shoes hit the cobblestoned floor- feeling anxious.
What if I can't make any friends?
What if my decision of being with my Mom will make me regret everything at the end?
What if I don't do good in school? Would my Dad be mad or disappointed in me?
Oh jeez. I need to calm down.
I nibble my lower lips in frustration. If things get worse I know that my sister will be experiencing hell. So, I need to do good - I mean great or excellent or best or perfect or - okay, calm your ass down, Solace.
You should be happy and free, right? Like your name; you should live up with your name. Solace Euphoria Alonzo Martinez. Peace and happiness. I tried to smile but I eventually failed.
"Hi, good morning," someone approached me. She's with a sulking guy behind. "Oh, sorry. Itatanong ko lang sana kung may nakita ka bang aso?" Tanong niya.
"H-ha?" Parang tangang tugon ko.
Her long brown hair shook with her laugh. The guy glared at me.
"A-ah, hehe, opo." I nod my head furiously as my heart race sped faster.
"Ang cute 'no? Crush ka raw ata." Pang-aasar ng babae. "Oh tatahol na yarn, hahaha," tatawang-tawang aniya bago pasimple akong kinindatan.
"Shut up, Dela Cruz." Ani ng tao sa likod.
"I'm just kidding! Alam ko namang ako lang crush mo eh," Tatawa-tawang sabi ng babae.
"Tsk. 'Asa ka." Pikong tugon ng lalaki bago ako nakabusangot na nilampasan. The girl laughed loudly. "Sus! In denial!" She commented before following him."Thanks." Aniya sa'kin bago ako nilampasan.
I breathed in some air and tried to calm down my beating heart.
The wind blew my hair, swaying some of my loose strand and making a few stick out on my forehead. The announcement is saying that our choosing and joining the club/s will happen on June 09 and 10. That's Thursday and Friday so that's two more days to go, I still have some spare time to think about what club would or will I be joining. I heave a sigh before tucking the loose strand of hair in my ear as the cool air gushs over again.
I took a deep breath and sighed. "Smile, Solace." I whispered into myself, finding some courage to continue studying in this school.
This school is far more different than my previous one. My old school is an international school while this is just national. But I can't deny the fact that this place is pretty wide and beautiful. It gives the calm and peaceful vibes of the late afternoon or the early morning of the schools in teen fiction movies or something similar in those fields of genre.
