~Chapter 5~
"We have an extra room right?" Tony asked
"In the tower? Yeah. Why?" Steve asked
"Well I was thinking about it, since Hadley is going to be an avenger, she'll need a place to stay right? Why not here?" Tony said, gesturing around
"Doesn't she have her own house?" Nat asked
"It was just an idea" Tony said, grabbing his keys, "I'll be back."
He left the tower quickly and the other avengers glanced at each other
"Something's different about him" Bruce said
"Definitely" Nat agreed and Steve nodded

Tony smiled to himself as he drove to Hadley's apartment.
Once he got there, he looked up at the small building with a hum. Definitely not what he was used to
He shrugged and parked his car before getting out and looking up at the building
"Apartment 20" he mumbled, going inside.
After a bit of searching, he found it, Apartment 20.
He knocked on the door with a smile, checking his watch.
After a couple of minutes, he sighed and knocked again
"Jeez I'm coming" Hadley mumbled, walking through the apartment. It was early and she'd just woken up.
She sighed as she opened her door "Yeah?"
Tony smirked lightly at the sight of her. Her short hair was a mess and she wore pajamas covered in stars and moons. Not to mention the fact that said pjs were short shorts
Hadley's eyes widened slightly at the sight of him
"Tony??"
Hadley tugged lightly on her shorts, feeling a little exposed now as Tony looked her over
"Hey Cosmic Cafe, what's up?" He said, leaning on the doorway
"Tony, what are you doing here? A-And how did you even find my address?" She asked
He shrugged and walked in, looking around
"Sure. C'mon in." She mumbled, following him and closing the door
Tony looked around, messing with different trinkets as he walked
"Tony. What are you doing here?" Hadley asked, crossing her arms
"Oh right, I've come with an invitation" Tony said, looking to her
"An invitation?" She questioned
"Yes. See I was thinking about it and I figured it you're going to become an avenger, you should stay with the rest of the avengers. At the tower" he explained
"Don't you live in Malibu?" Hadley asked
"Yeah but I visit a lot, sort of the benefit of having my own plane. I get to go wherever I want" Tony said
"Uh-huh." She hummed in response
"I mean if you're so concerned with where I live you could always come there instead. Believe me I have plenty of room" he said
"And why are you so concerned about where I live?" Hadley asked, crossing her arms
Tony shrugged "I have no idea honestly. But I just feel like... A great hero... Ahem... Such as yourself, should live in a great home... And you know... This place is.."
"Small?" She said, hugging herself
"Yeah. A bit." Tony said, glancing at her. He bit his lip "that's not to say it's not a nice place... I just figure maybe you'd want more room... You know?"
Hadley looked around. It was true. She'd always thought her home was too small but it was all she could afford. Was he seriously offering this? Really?
"So you're saying. I should come live with you." She said
"Yeah. That's exactly what I'm saying. I mean you know we make a great team and we'll be able to save more lives if we're in one place" Tony said with a shrug
"What brought this on?"
"I don't know." Tony said, earning a look, "I really don't. I woke up last night, late last night and it just hit me. That this should happen. I honestly can't explain it and I don't want to. I just think it's a good idea"
"So you had a late night epiphany that I should come live either with you or at Avengers' Tower." She said
"Yes... So what do you say?" He said, looking at her
"It's definitely an interesting Invitation... I'll have to think about it" she said, looking around. Just the thought of living somewhere bigger made her apartment feel so small
"Okay. Take all the time you need. There's no limit on the offer. I was just thinking that-"
"Yes"
"Hm?" He looked at her
"Yes. I think it's a good idea.." she said, looking at him, "I'll be honest, this place has always felt small... Too small..."
"Great. So it's settled. You'll come live with me" Tony said with a nod, "I'll shoot Pepper a text, tell her to prepare for a moving day and then we'll move you to Malibu"
"I thought the original offer was for Avengers' Tower" Hadley said
"I changed my mind" Tony replied, "you know, I'm right, we would be a better team if we were in the same place. Why? Do you need to stay in New York?"
"I mean no. I don't have to but-" she said
"But?" Tony asked
"But I'd rather stay in New York... This is my city... It's the place I protect... I just.."
"No that's okay. We have room at the Tower too" Tony said
But why did it hurt that she reject living with him?
"Okay." Hadley said, "I'll... Start packing then"
"Alright great" he said, pulling out his phone, "excuse me"
Tony put the phone to his ear and left the apartment
Hadley hugged herself and looked around
Wow.
Was this really happening?
"Hey does this make me an avenger?" Hadley called
"Yep" Tony replied from the other room
