~Chapter 14~

The following weeks, in Tony's opinion, were the best weeks at Avengers' Tower.

Everything was great

Especially the fact that Hadley had stopped actively trying to push him out of her life

She was actually being friendly which is what he wanted

Well actually that was the least of what he wanted but it was a start.

One that he was embracing whole heartedly

Until he walked in on this.

Tony glared from the other side of the room as Bruce and Hadley sat on the couch together, chatting about the science behind meteor showers, a subject Tony could tell Hadley was passionate about.

It wasn't the fact that she was talking to him, no, it was how they sat.

Bruce sat facing her, one leg crossed over the other, an arm thrown across the back of the couch

Hadley sat close to him, both feet up on the couch, one hand on her knee, the other leaning on the sofa behind her, just next to his arm

It may not have meant much to anyone else but to Tony they looked a little too cozy.

It infuriated him to no end.

He wanted nothing more than to be in Bruce's place, watching the light glimmer in her dark eyes as she talked about space and the galaxy

Tony sighed and rubbed his face

"Jeez Stark. You look like someone spit in your coffee" Nat said as she walked over

Tony looked at her and sighed "I'm fine. It's nothing."

"Okay well that's a lie. What's up?" Nat said

Tony sighed and gestured to the astronomy twins

"Oh. You're jealous" Nat said

"I'm not-" Tony sighed, "I'm not jealous. I just wish she was talking to me instead of him"

"You know for a genius you're kind of an idiot. That's jealousy" Nat said

Tony huffed lightly

"Well. If it helps I'd calm down about it anyway. They see each other as siblings. Nothing more. Believe me, Hadley and I have had that talk" Natasha said

"Really? What uh... What else have you talked about?"

"None of your business." Nat said, looking at him, "but seriously. There's no need to be jealous. Banner likes someone else anyway." Nat said, an almost undetectable blush dusting her cheeks at her own words

Tony raised a brow, a small smirk coming to his face

"Oh" Tony said, "I see"

Nat nodded quietly, glancing at him before clearing her throat "well in any case you should go for it. Worst thing she can do is say no" she said before walking off

Tony looked at her and sighed before shrugging

"Um. Who the hell is that?" Tony asked, glaring at the man who stood at the bar, talking to Hadley

"Some guy Hadley knows, I don't know." Bruce said, "I think his name was Camden"

"Camden? That's a girl's name."

"It can be a boy's name" Bruce said

"Well if it was it'd be a child's name."

"Well children grow up.." Bruce said softly

Tony scoffed and walked over

"Hey Moonbeam, Who's this?" Tony asked

"Oh, this is Camden. He's a friend from college, visiting for the day" Hadley explained

"Nice to meet you Mr. Stark." Camden said. He had an accent. British. It only made Tony hate him more

"Where are you from Cory?" Tony asked

"It's Camden, and I'm from Umbridge" Camden replied

"Umbridge. Isn't that that bitch from the Harry Potter movies?" Tony asked, crossing his arms

"Tony."

"What? I'm just getting to know our mate here" Tony replied

"It's alright Hadley. It is but it's all a city near London" Camden replied

"Oh okay" Tony said, purposely making it sound like he didn't care

"Tony." Hadley scolded again, "what's with you?"

"Nothing's with me. Gotta go. Got stuff to do. I'm pretty busy, being a billionaire and Iron Man and all that" Tony said, smirking at his own words

"Alright well... It was nice meeting you Mr. Stark"

"Wish I could say the same" Tony said, walking away. Camden frowned

Tony walked back to Bruce, who was talking to Thor and scoffed

"He's an entitled ass" he informed them

"Oh yeah?" Bruce asked, crossing his arms

"Yeah. Oh look at me I have a fancy accent and I'm so special ooh ooh ooh" Tony grumbled in a very fake British accent

"I would be offended by that if I didn't know your current situation. For now I will allow it." Thor said to him

"Seriously Tony, you've got to do something about that jealousy thing..." Bruce said

"I'm not jealous! I just don't think he deserves to hang out with someone like Hadley" Tony said, "she's too good for him"

"And who is good enough for her?" Bruce asked, amused

"No one.." Tony mumbled

Bruce chuckled fondly, "And he says he's not jealous" he said to Thor

"I'm not!"

"Sure"
