~Chapter 19~
Hadley woke up the next morning, alone in Tony Stark's bed.
She looked around quietly as she sat up and rubbed her head
She hugged herself tightly as she remember the night before, her cheeks turning red once more
She gripped the blankets quietly and ran her fingers through her hair before pushing herself out of the bed.
She jolted slightly when the door opened
"Oh hey, you're awake" Tony said, walking in with a tray, "You looked so tired... I didn't want to wake you... Um... I made breakfast... J.A.R.V.I.S. did most of the work actually... I was just his hands.."
Hadley smiled a bit as she sat back down. Tony made his way over with the tray and set it down next to her.
She chuckled as she looked at the sort of... Sloppy meal in front of her.
"Wow Tony the presentation here is really stellar" she joked
Tony playfully rolled his eyes "I'm not a professional chef Galaga" he replied
"I can tell" she teased, smiling fondly at him
Tony chuckled and smiled back
The two stared at each other fondly for a moment before Hadley blushed and looked back at the food
She grabbed her fork and tried it, smiling "Hey despite how it looks it actually tastes really good" she said, looking at him
"Really?" He said in surprise, taking the fork from her, he tried it and smiled, "damn I could be a chef"
"Well you should work on that a little more before you try that. Plus I don't think you can have J.A.R.V.I.S. in your ear"
"Of course I can" Tony replied
Hadley smiled and shook her head, eating more
The door opened and they both looked up as Pepper walked in
"Tony, you've got a meeting at 4 in Malibu. We have to go" Pepper said
Tony sighed deeply and looked back at Hadley "Duty calls..." He said
"It's okay... I'll see you when you get back okay?" She said, smiling at him
Tony nodded and stood. The two lingered for a moment before Tony left the room
Pepper watched Tony go before looking at Hadley
"You know. You like to act and tell everyone you don't like him. But I think you're lying to everyone. Including yourself" she said
Hadley looked at her in surprise before looking down, thinking about this
She sighed "I think... You might be right" she said
Pepper smiled lightly "Don't worry. Your secret is safe" she said before following Tony out
Hadley nodded and hugged herself, looking down at the tray
She'd been thinking about it all morning, deep in the corner of her mind.
It was pretty much every other day that Bruce told her that he believed that she had feelings for Tony. So it was hard to ignore the idea of it
She looked around the room
She'd be lying to herself if she hadn't at least thought about the two of them being together. In fact she thought about it often... Every time he smiled...
She shook her head and sighed
Great.
Just great.
She had a crush on Tony Stark
The biggest playboy ever.
She didn't believe that would bode well...
But what if she acted on these feelings?
What if she told him?
She looked down at the tray again and smiled
"Maybe.." she mumbled, "maybe we could happen..."
She smiled to herself then nodded quietly
She had to do this.
If anything he can reject her and get it over with.
