"YOU NEED TO STOP BEING THE NERVOUS ONE IN SITUATIONS LIKE THIS, IT MAKES ME ANXIOUS WHEN YOU'RE ANXIOUS." Cedric quietly said for only Ginger's ears to hear. The day of the first task was finally upon them and Ginger was nervous as ever for her best friend to go through the dangerous area all for the audience's amusement.

"Well it's not every day you get to go into an arena to battle a dragon for a fake egg, now is it?" she made an attempt to lighten their mood but easily failed. They both sighed and fidgeted with their hands unknowingly before Ginger spoke again, "care for a short and stupid pep talk that'll probably be bad but still work anyways?" she sheepishly smiled with the question, Cedric grinned, pearly teeth on display while nodding.

"That would be appreciated."

"Right, um," she put her hands into his and leaned her head back thinking, the only thing that kept her from falling to the floor was Cedric hands holding hers, "Cedric Leo Diggory," he cringed at his middle name but let her continue. "I completely believe you are capable of getting that shiny egg. You're Pretty Boy Diggory for Merlin's sake!" She grasped his face and brought their faces so close to each other their vision went blurry, completely disregarding the concept of personal space.

"Leonardo Diggory, you're my best friend and if anyone can do this and win, it's you." Just as the last word slipped out of her mouth, two bright flashes went off. The two blinked profusely to gain their eyesight back as a woman's voice began speaking.

"Young love! Ohh how.. stirring. If everything goes unfortunately today you four might make the front page!" Rita Skeeter, Cedric had told Ginger how intrusive the woman was, but meeting her in person made her seem even more like a nightmare. "As for you," she pointed at Ginger, "You're a whole story in itself, I mean three boys fighting for your affection? You must be torn! Thoughts?" She batted her eyes at a pinkish Ginger who was staring at the floating quill that was scribbling whatever nonsense Rita seemed to spout.

"Three boys?" She questioned, there were different boys in her life who all held a special spot in her heart, but she had never recalled any of them duelling for her love.

"Well yes, my temptress, those two Weasley twins and Mister Diggory here. Personally, I'm rooting for the Cassanova of Hufflepuff, but you seem like a good girl so maybe you enjoy a little carrot snack from time to time," Skeeter winked at a mortified Ginger who was seconds away from losing her breakfast at the woman's words.

"You have no business here. This tent is for champions and friends." Viktor Krum spoke up having enough of Rita's nonsense.

"No matter. We've got what we wanted." She flirtatiously grazed the feather of her quill under the Bulgarian's chin before exiting. Another flash of the camera went off just before the entrance of Dumbledore.

"Good day champions. Gather round, please. Now you've waited, you've wondered and at last, the moment has arrived. The moment only four of you can fully appreciate." He took a moment looking at the faces of the champions before noticing two faces too many. "What are you doing here Miss Granger? Miss Lunette?"

The girls quickly exited the tent after his words and walked to the arena together, "do you think they're going to be alright?" Hermione asked wearily. As much as Ginger wanted to say yes and guarantee the safety of the champions in the tent behind them, she couldn't. She could only wish for such things and hope the outcomes wouldn't be catastrophic.

"I hope so."
