Riley:
The way his light honey eyes watched me made my whole body shutter. His features alone pulled me in but his eyes brought a whole new feeling of butterflies in my stomach as he spoke my name. I couldn't find any words to say back to him, I opened my mouth trying to force any words out of my mouth but Jessica beat me to it.
"Jasper! What brings you over here?" Jessica asked him as she fluttered her eyelashes at him. She already flirted with so many people daily and now Jasper has been added to her list which made my blood boil. I was taken back by the sudden urge to knock out a couple of Jessica's teeth. I wasn't normally a violent person, maybe it was because Jessica is one of the most two-faced people I have ever met. I don't understand how Bella can stand being friends with her.
"Just come to meet, Riley." He said with a shrug as he smiled at me, a country twang clear in his voice. I couldn't help but noticed that even though he was talking to Jessica, he ignored her flirting and only looked at her for a split second before his eyes fixed back on me. But before I could get a word to him out Jessica interrupted again,
"Why waste your time on her? Go hang out with your girlfriend." Jessica said with an eye roll annoyance clear in her voice. Fury scattered across his features as his warm eyes turned cold as he whipped his head to Jessica.
"She's not my girlfriend anymore, for your information." He almost hissed at her, all the heads snapped towards him like he just committed a murder. That just made me question on how long they had been together and why they suddenly broke up but it also put my heart at ease for the first time since I walked in the double doors this morning.
"Well that's to bad isn't it?" Jessica giggled as her eyes racked up and down his body. How could Bella stand being friends with someone like her? I looked over at Bella but she was glancing across the room at someone, I couldn't see who since so many bodies were moving around. Maybe someone caught her eye and if so, I'm glad. Bella was never one to have a boyfriend, she's had like two that never lasted because they ended up only wanting one thing from her.
"Jasper why don't you sit by me?" Jessica asked, once again trying to get his attention back on her with the new information she had.
"Thanks but no thanks. I must be heading back to my family now." He said giving all of us a smile. Without another word he turned his back to us and he was gone and I couldn't wait to see him again. Now that he was gone Jessica was sending a glare my way as she tried to talk to Bella about something to do with the swim team.
"Imma go get lunch." I said as I stood to my feet, wanting time alone for a minute but I wasn't going to get it as Mike rose to his feet as well.
"I'll go with you, beautiful." Mike said rushing to my side. Bella grinned at me as I walked away with Mike on my heels. He seemed like a nice guy and all but he was already getting on my nerves the more he opened his mouth. I couldn't help but look over at Jasper and his family as I walked but I was taken by surprise when I accidentally locked eyes with him. My heart sped up as I forced myself to look away.
*Jasper:
"What is she thinking?" I couldn't help but ask again as she walked with Mike. He had taken a keen interest in Riley and her sister but even Mike could tell her wasn't going to get anywhere with Bella so he stupidly decides to try for Riley.
"Jasper enough. She is thinking of the many ways she could murder Mike in his sleep. You're fine." Edward hissed finally annoyed with me. I didn't care, Edward was now going to have to get used to me asking what Riley is thinking. Riley was different than Bella, Edward couldn't hear a sound when it came to the depths of Bella's mind but, apparently, with Riley, her mind was a mixed up mess at a whisper, maybe that's why he was getting frustrated.
I hadn't even noticed Mike had left her side until he came bouncing back something small and wrapped in plastic in his hand. He handed it to Riley with a big smile on his face as if a simple snack would make her fall in love with him. I finally tore my eyes away from them trying to focus on someone else's feelings before I snapped and ended Mike's life right here in front of everyone.
"Shit!" Edward said suddenly as he stood to his feet, worry, fear, and panic was radiating off of him. I looked up and followed his line of sight just as Riley collapsed.
Bella:
"Mike! What the fuck did you do?" I shrieked at him as I rushed to my sister's side, her face already starting to swell. I could already tell what he gave her as he shook off the shock and spoke.
"I just gave her a bit of brownie?" He said like a question while he was frozen in place. When she fell he didn't even attempt to catch her, what was he thinking? I roughly grab the brownie from his hand taking a small bite, tasting what I had feared.
"Mike, she's allergic to peanuts!" I cried out as I felt the back of her head, it definitely bounced off the tile floor. I was going to give him more hell just as I heard Riley started struggling to breathe as her throat started closing up.
"God damn it! Someone get the nurse!" I yelled as I said beside her pulling her heas onto my lap. "Riley, just breathe, please just keep breathing." I whispered as I started to cry. Damn this school for making us keep her eppy pen in the nurses office.
