Jasper:

"Alice, do you think we could talk?" I asked her pulling us to a stop as we made our way to lunch. I was mad at her for not telling me my mate, Riley, would be here soon. I had a right to know and she didn't even bring it up.

"Yes, Jasper?" She asked with a flutter of her lashes, trying to act innocent but today she was far from it. Her smile slightly faltered when she saw how serious I was. Her eyes alone already told me she knew what I was furious about.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I said simply. Fear, loss, and pain flashed through her eyes. She tried to hide it but she couldn't keep her emotions under control, even if she could I would still be able to feel whatever she was feeling.

"What are you talking about Jasper?" She mumbles not meeting my eyes, she was guilty and she knew it and I could feel it all over her. How dare she try to lie her way out of this.

"Riley. Alice, you saw her but you didn't think to tell me? This is my mate I'm talking about here. I had a right to know!" I hissed as her my anger suddenly taking over my mind set. I was surprised with my acts to say the least. Usually I was the calm headed one but now that my mate is involved it was all going to change. She took a minute before answering, probably trying to find a way to make herself look innocent in this situation.

"Of course you had a right to know, I didn't know it would happen so soon! I just wasn't ready to lose you, I love you so much." She pleaded with me but my mind was already made up. If she was going to start keeping stuff like this from me I couldn't trust her. Now that my realy mate was here, Alice would try to do anything possible to keep me away from Riley.

"Well I don't." I said barley above a whisper. I didn't want to hurt her, but if I wanted her to leave me and Riley alone I had to. She had already hurt me by hiding my future, my mate.

"Don't what?" She asked. If she could cry she would have by now, as of right now I didn't care, all of my emotions of love, trust and every other feeling for her was gone. Maybe someday we could get back to all that and just be family but at this point there was no way it was possible.

"I don't love you. Not after you kept this from me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go meet my mate." I turned on my heels and headed for the lunchroom. I didn't look back to see if Alice was following, I hoped she wasn't, I was sure I had made my point clear about how I felt.

I looked through the tables, searching for her face. When I, at first, couldn't find her, all of the anger I was feeling turned into worry. Then all of the "what if's" stopped when I saw her brown locks, if I was human I swear my heart would have skipped a beat.

At first my feet didn't want to move, what would I even say to her? What if her new friends had already told her about me and my family? Finally, without a second thought, my feet started moving.

I felt an overpowering sence of lust radiating off of someone. Mike. I looked towards him as I felt anger stagger through me. He was feeling like this towards Riley. My Riley.

Before I had a chance to act, he was shoved from the seat and Bella took a seat.

"Oops, sorry Mike." Riley said with a slight smile. Her smile made my anger vanish. I was going to go talk to her but my feet didn't want to move. I was worried about how she would feel. Would she even except me as I am?

"Hello Riley." I said as my feet moved. Her eyes finally met mine and I felt as if I was drifting off the ground. Her eyes were my favorite part of her. They captured me.

Surprise is what everyone was feeling at this moment, apart from Riley. She was feeling... Content.
