9•|Mutual Scars

Grayson's POV:

"Come on, just a little bit more!"

I said in a panic as I kept sprinting towards my father's house, though I worried that I wouldn't be able to get Orchid there safely! Her unsteady breathing has me concerned since she refuses to wake up. Just what happened to her?

"Grayson!? What the hell are you doing?"

Hearing his sudden voice, I looked over to the side and saw that it was Shawn running up behind me! I had no idea if the wolves from earlier were still following my tracks, but I just had no time to check. Though I have been running for a few minutes already...

"Shawn, where's the rest of your pack!?"

I asked as I kept running forward, though Shawn was having a hard time answering since his eyes were solely focused on Orchid's unconscious body.

"They...went off hunting a moment ago. However, we ran into some wolves belonging to Silver Crest. It's strange, they don't usually hunt this close to our territory- anyways, Grayson, who the hell is that on your back?"

He questioned in an upset growl, I can see why he would be so upset since he doesn't like strangers that very much. But what he said made me calm down a bit, knowing that Fang Claw is mostly surrounding this area now. I shouldn't have to worry about the other pack chasing me...

"Relax, she's not really...a human. But you must keep this a secret, understand? Don't tell the others what you saw today, I won't be able to hunt tonight. Listen, I'll explain everything to you later."

I quickly said to him before running off, hearing Shawn howl shortly after, I was able to hear the rest of my pack howl in return throughout the woods! The rain was starting to die down but the rapid winds were still stronger than ever. I don't think anyone will be able to hunt anything tonight with this type of weather...

It didn't take long before reaching the front porch of my father's house, so I quickly, but carefully placed Orchid's body down before shifting back into my human form as I banged on the door repeatedly until someone finally opened it! Not seeing who it was, I picked Orchid up before rushing inside!

"Enough with the banging of the door- eww! Why are you naked!? Holy shit! Is that Orchid -mom! Help!"

With Marissa shouting in a panic, I placed Orchid down on the couch as I grabbed my sweater that was lying on the nearby table. Wrapping it around my waist, I ran my fingers through my wet damped hair as I heard a sudden door being opened! It was my mother who came out of her room...

"Grayson, what did you do to her-"

"I didn't do shit! She was already in the forest when I came across her- and now isn't the time to be asking questions! Her breathing has been lowering since I got hear and I don't know what's happening to her?"

I explained with uneasiness towards Marissa as we both saw our mother rushing towards us! Her expression widened in shock after seeing the state that Orchid was in...

"Oh my goodness! Grayson, did you find her like this? Who is she- her body is completely cold. Marissa, get me some clothes for her. I need to change her out of these wet ones."

Mother demanded with worry as she began to strip her clothes off. With my sister rushing upstairs without question, I made sure to look away as Orchid lay naked in front of me as my mother began to examine her body...

"Do you know what's wrong with her?"

I asked while averting my gaze, but hearing what my mother had to say. I couldn't help but bring both my hands into a tight fist! I even let out a breathless growl as I felt the veins in my neck tensing up!
