Orchid's POV:

It's been a few days since the incident, and with it being the end of the weekend. I had no classes these last three days, however, Damien still had to go to work this Sunday morning. Things have still been awkward between us, though he's trying to do his part in giving me space. We don't even sleep in the same bed anymore, lately, he's been crashing on the couch and I'm sure my dad has noticed...

Bringing my empty plate to the sink, I washed my dish and was about ready to just go out for a walk. Since it's still morning, the sun should be getting warmer. After I was done cleaning up, I grabbed my black hoodie that was lying on the chair and placed it on. However, I made sure to bring my cross bag which had my wallet and house keys. It's bizarre, but not seeing Marissa for a while has made me feel a bit down lately. I guess I miss her quirkiness and outspoken voice. She is the only friend I have made since moving here, I should have asked for her number when I had the chance.

As I prepared to leave, I began to shut the door behind me until I heard the loud obnoxious lawn motor going off! Looking over, I saw that my father was beginning to cut the grass. I'm just glad that Damien never told him about the journal I had. But the outcome of having Damien keep it secret was that he would refuse to tell me how he found me at Grayson's father's house and that he would keep the journal. It's just more secrets that are beginning to pile on, it sucks because I was hoping to read more of what my father wrote...

"Morning Orchid, have you eaten breakfast already?!"

I heard him shout over the loud motor, giving him a thumbs-up, I approached where he was. Shutting off his machine, he was already wiping off the sweat from his forehead.

"Are you heading out somewhere?"

He asked curiously while taking off his hat, watching him take a drink from his water bottle, I started to place my hair in a ponytail before telling him where I was heading.

"I'm just going out for a walk, there's a park nearby, it's not that far-"

"Do you have your phone? And is it on-"

"Yes Dad, it's right here fully charged."

I reassured him as I showed him my cell before placing it back in my pocket.

"Alright, because I don't want a repeat of what happened last time. Which by the way, are you and Damien okay?"

Father suddenly asked as he placed his hat back on. It caught me by surprise since my Dad wasn't someone who would get in between my issues of the relationship I have with Damien. I guess this is my dad trying to be a parental figure, he never was good at playing the mother role. And even now, I'm sure he questions if he's been a good dad...

"Yeah...I'm sorry about that. I'll be sure to have it on me at all times. And things between Damien and I...are just complicated."

I answered vaguely before stuffing my cold hands into my pockets...

"Listen, I get it... There's gonna be times when you both are gonna wanna just yell at each other. I was the same way with your mom-"

"Really?! I find that hard to believe since you always talk about how happy you were with her..."

I was startled by his words, I guess no relationship is perfect.

"Believe me, being with someone isn't always about being with them for the happy moments. But about sticking with them for the tough difficult situations as well, that's what makes a relationship last. If I hadn't stuck around for your mother, I would have never married her. But in the end, it's all up to what you want..."
