Orchid's POV:

Gasping for air, I jolted my body forward as I felt breathless! My arm instantly twitched in discomfort once I saw a needle inserted in my vein arm. Confused about where I was, I frantically looked around and saw that I was in a familiar room. But wait, how did I get here? I thought I was with Grayson in the meadows-

"Shit..."

I grunted in pain as I tried to move my lower waist, trying to lay back down, I bit on my lower lip as I finally felt the agony of what my body was feeling. Looking at my arms, they were both bandaged up. And I was too scared to look at my lower half, but I felt relieved feeling that both my legs were still attached to me. After what I did with Grayson last night, I kind of lost feeling below my waist...

Trying my best not to cry, I began to take deep breaths in as I felt sharp tingles on my collarbone. Carefully raising my arm, I tried to touch the area around my neck but was startled by the abrupt door being opened!

"You're awake, that's good. I was beginning to get anxious- oh! No, don't touch your stitches, give them time before it's healed. Here, I brought you some water..."

"Stitches? Erica, what happened?"

I asked her as I adjusted myself and reached for the glass of water she was handing me. My throat was parched, but my body was sore with any movement I did. It's as if every bone in my body was crushed over and over again.

"After Grayson brought you back, you were severely injured..."

With Erica explaining everything that had happened, I needed a minute to process everything. It's almost hard to believe that I'm still alive. Though I'm grateful for how much Erica has taken care of me in these last few days, however, I never would have thought I would stay unconscious for three days. It's almost embarrassing that Erica had to wash my body. At least I didn't need another blood transfusion, I should thank Marissa soon...

"I'm still amazed by how brave you were, Grayson could have killed you. So seeing you still breathing, is nothing but a miracle. Though you will have to stay bedridden for a few more days. Also, we called your school and gave them a two-week notice that you won't be attending your classes for a while due to your health. With Andrew being the mayor, he was able to get your paperwork very easily and have that set up for you. So you don't have to worry about that..."

She explained as she began to change my I.V. bag.

"Of my god, I almost forgot about school! Thank you so much, you and your family have done so much for me-"

"There's no need to thank me, you're part of our family now. Especially since Grayson has marked you...which I'm still very surprised he did. He was always against having a mate, but it seems that you were an exception. But I have to admit, it must've been very painful having sex with a wolf. For a small human like you, it's only natural that you would rip from your vaginal region. I'm just glad Grayson was able to come back to his senses before it was too late. The marking around your neck will be scarred there forever...even if it fades away. That scent will always linger, that you belong to Gray now. It's a big responsibility, but I know you'll be okay. Because he chose you for a reason, whether it was out of love or a sense of duty. He trusts you more than anyone, so I hope you'll be able to have patience with him. He's not someone to show sympathy, nor does he show mercy. But he will always prove his caring nature with his heart, so don't let him go..."

She reassured me as I watched her grab my hand, giving her a genuine smile. I let her change my bandages as I tried to ignore the pain. But seeing the claw marks and teeth marks...it's insane that I survived. But it's no surprise that I bled out, even though I'm held speechless by my actions. I guess at the time I wasn't seeing Grayson as a wolf...nor would it have mattered if he was in his human form. All I wanted was to be there for him, to mend his heart. Letting him mark me was something that I agreed on so I could be special to him. I'm fully aware of Grayson's cold nature, but he shows a different side of himself when he's with me. I guess it's that fragile side of him that I've come to care for.
