Chapter 3 - Weird Feelings

Maddie

It was the next morning. What happened yesterday was pretty weird but I decided to just brush it off.

I arrived at school and saw Karl in the corner. He smiled at me and I smiled back. My smile then faded away when I saw George coming towards me. Ugh.

"Hey, blondie." He smirked. "What happened to whale and why are you smirking..?" I asked. "Basically, the name 'whale' was pretty dumb and I'm smirking because... why not?" He said. Weird..

George

I don't know why I smirked. Why would I smirk ? Now, she probably thinks I'm weird or something and- wait a minute.. why am I nervous ?

She's my enemy. How could I be nervous ? All the sudden, I get this weird feeling in my stomach, never felt before. What is it ?

I snapped out of my thoughts when Karl came. "Hey, guys !" He said. "Hey, Karl!" Maddie said. "You look great today!" He complimented her. Why am I jealous ? She blushed at his compliment. "Thank you! You too!" She replied.

I got out of there. I couldn't watch anymore of that. How could she like him ? He's ugly, he's stupid. She doesn't deserve him! I mean, she's pretty, beautiful, kind.. Oh god. Stop, George! Wait, do I like her..? No, I don't. Shut up.

But, who knows...

Maddie

George was acting really weird. I brushed it off and walked with Karl to class. I really do like him. He's cute, funny and nice. Wow, I really like Karl. I need to tell the girls.

George

What is wrong with me ? Why am I thinking about Maddie so much ? Am I crushing, no. I can't be. I have hated her for so many years. Why now ? I need to talk about this to the guys.

Maddie

"Hey! I need to talk to y'all about something." I said. "Spill!" Rae said excited. "I think I have a crush..." I said. "Who!" All the girls yelled at the same time. "Karl.." I said. "Oh." Alyssa said. I was confused. They all looked at each other. "Is something, wrong with that ?" I asked. "I thought you were going to say George but, never mind." Tina said.

George ? Why the hell would they think I like George ? I have hated him for so long. They then said that they are happy for me and are sure that he feels the same way. "You need to tell him ! He always smiles at you !" Rae said. "I know! But, it's normal to smile, so I don't think that's it.. I don't think he feels the same way. "Girl! Calm down. Just go tell him." They said. "Fine. But not just yet." I finally agreed.

George

I wanted to overhear the girls' conversation, so I did. She likes Karl ? You've got to be kidding me. Wait, why am I jealous ? I don't like her. George Henry flippin' Davidson doesn't like Maddie flippin' Laurier. I'm just overreacting, right ?
