My alarm went off at 7am on Tuesday morning and I got myself up and ready as though I was going into work as usual. I checked my phone, I had a message from Jack with a picture of him and Ben on the plane before take off, which he'd also posted on Instagram, with the words "missing my girl ❤" underneath.

@JackGrealish "missing my girl ❤"

He was quite literally the sweetest human being I'd ever met, and it made me feel even more sure that what I was planning to do today was the right thing.

I grabbed my keys, purse and phone and full of nerves, I headed into work with my resignation letter in my hand. The meeting went as well as could be expected in the circumstances, Clare tried to talk me out of it and fully layed the blame at Jack's door for me wanting to leave. I told her that while Jack was a big part of my decision, I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't what I wanted.  In the space of a week , my life had turned upside down and me not knowing what was going to happen or where I wanted to be after my holiday, she floated the idea of me working from  home when I got back, I told her I just wanted to go away and enjoy my holiday and not think about anything else, and I'd be in touch with her when I got back if it was something I wanted to pursue. I felt really bad leaving her in the lurch, but I'd not taken any of my holiday this year so my whole notice period was covered by my annual leave meaning I could finish immediately. I said my goodbyes and headed home to pack my suitcase and book the next available flight out to Mykonos. My heart was racing, I was so excited to surprise Jack.

I got home and immediately Google searched flights to Mykonos, the next available flight out wasn't until tomorrow morning so I booked myself a seat and started packing my suitcase with all the new clothes I'd bought the other day and some of my old trusty favourites from my wardrobe. It had been a long time since I'd been away for 2 weeks so I had to pack and repack several times to fit everything in.

With everything organised and my suitcase packed I decided to facetime Jess to fill her in on my plans so she knew what time to expect me tomorrow and could make sure Jack wasn't around when I got there, I wanted the surprise to be perfect and my plan to get myself ready at Jess and Ben's villa and surprise Jack at dinner was going to be perfect.

"Hey Karly" said Jess picking up the call quickly, chewing on her food as she swung her phone around so I could say hi to Ben

"Sorry hun, you're eating, d'ya want me to call back a bit later?" I asked

"No, no you're fine" she said, taking a large sip from her wine glass "erm, Ben knows the plan by the way?" She said sheepishly "But it's ok, he's not gonna say anything, I just couldn't help it" said Jess, facepalming herself.

"Oh Jess" I shouted down the phone, half annoyed but also half amused that she'd been unable to keep it from Ben. I heard Jack in the background..

"Is that my girl?" He called to Jess, as she swung the phone around to show Jack who was sitting  2 people away from her on a long table. He had a bottle of beer in his hand and next to him was a pretty bikini clad blonde, leaning on his shoulder far too familiarly for my liking. She looked over Jack's shoulder at me and gave me a cold smile while continuing to lean on him seductively. Jack was paying her no attention, his focus purely on me.
