Four Jessicas are trying out, and all match Jamie's description of the Dreaded Jessica Sloan. One of the Jessicas is my assigned partner.

"That's okay with me." I stand and then walk over backward in one fluid motion. "It's too bad you're a back spot and not a base, too. I could use a partner for the stunting part of today."
"I think Erica is looking for a base partner. Maybe we can be a stunt group with her friend Emmylou. She's a flyer."
"You're assuming we're all going to make it." I grab the arch of my left foot in my left hand and stretch out a heel stretch.
"Why wouldn't we? Come on, let's run our cheer one last time. We're up soon."
