The Tuesday following Labor Day's extended-weekend, I am enjoying an early morning dream about life. Jamie and Jessie are sitting side by side on the couch in Jessie's basement, willingly discussing something like friends. Rebecca Pittman, Jessie's friend from English is there as well, and she is helping me roll out the dough for sugar cookies. Jamie and Jessie head toward us with cookie cutters when the alarm does its familiar and unwanted screeching. I do not give the dream another thought.
Though I contemplate hitting snooze, I stumble to the bathroom I share with Felix. My eyes don't fully open until my final blast of cold water.
Felix stumbles past me, a hickey barely visible on his lower neck. "Gross. Who gave you that?"
"Like Danny Algrim isn't giving any to you," Felix returns, shutting the door behind him.
I shut my door with more force than necessary.
Cheyanne-
Did you see Felix's HICKEY this morning? I didn't think he and Erica would hit it off, and now she's giving him hickies...
I'm going to barf.
JessieJessie-
I already barfed.-Cheyanne
