I wake up and look around. I am still in Rafe's bedroom. I see the rising sun shining through his window. I look down and see his body is draped over mine as we lay there in his still made bed. We must have accidentally fallen asleep.

I slowly and carefully scoot my body out from underneath his arm, trying not to wake him. I grab a small throw blanket from the end of his bed and drape it over him. I grab my phone, keys, and wallet off of his dresser and quietly slide out of the window. I return the patio chair I used to climb inside back to where I found it and start walking up the road to where my car is parked.

I sit down in the drivers seat and open my phone. 4 missed calls and 3 text messages from John B.

John B: 'Where are you?'

John B: 'Are you okay?'

John B: 'Olivia Raine Routledge, I sure hope you're still alive'

Oh no, he full named me. I send him a quick reply, not wanting him to worry all day.

Liv: 'I'm fine, Bub. See ya later <3'

I drive to the nearest fast food place and get myself a cheap iced coffee and breakfast sandwich to start my day. I then drive a few blocks over to Mrs. McConnell's house. She is a nice old kook lady. Her husband passed away a few years ago and their kids and grandkids live out of state. She isn't able to get out of the house much so I help her twice a week by picking up a few groceries for her. I park my car in the driveway and go and ring the doorbell to her oversized beach mansion.

She opens the door and smiles at me. "Good morning, Miss Olivia."

I greet her and follow behind her as she slowly makes her way to the kitchen to grab her grocery list for me. She hands me the list and enough money for the groceries and some extra for myself to keep. She says this is my tip for helping her, I have tried refusing the payment numerous times but she insists. I would happily help her for free.

I look over the list and there isn't much on it so I decide to walk to the small market less than a mile away. This gives me a chance to just think and clear my head. I arrive to the store, grab the needed items, checkout, and start walking back to Mrs. McConnell's place.

My mind ultimately wonders back to last night. I can't stop thinking about the butterflies that I got when Rafe kissed me. It was a quick kiss but it was so soft and just thinking about it gives me butterflies all over again. Do I have feelings for Rafe? Does Rafe have feelings for me? No that's crazy, I'm just helping him through a hard time. The kiss meant nothing I reassure myself.

As I am lost in my own thoughts I almost didn't notice Topper approaching me. He cuts me off in my tracks and stands sternly in front of me. I look up and I see Rafe standing behind him.

"Hey Pogue, what are you doing on this side of the island?" Topper says aggressively

"Hey Pogue, what are you doing on this side of the island?" Topper says aggressively.

"Come on man, just leave it." I hear Rafe speak up but Topper ignores him.

"I'm just picking up groceries for someone." I reply back and roll my eyes.

Topper looks down and sees the few bags I have in my hands.

"Oh, yeah? Did you pay for these Pogue?" Topper asks.

I look over at Rafe, he says nothing.

"Yeah, I di-" I start to speak but am cut off as Topper grabs the bags from my hands and dumps them out all over the sidewalk.

"WHAT THE FUCK, TOPPER!" I shout at him.

Rafe looks at him in shock, but still does nothing.

Topper steps closer to me and gets close to my face. "You and your little surf rat friends stay off Figure 8, got it?" Topper threatens and then stomps off. Rafe follows after him.

I stand there in shock. I look down and see the groceries laying on the ground. Thankfully nothing is ruined so I don't have to replace anything. I pile everything back in the bags and resume walking. Anger starts to run through my veins. I can't believe Rafe just stood there and watched that happen. But I really shouldn't be too surprised, he is a kook after all.
