"Hey! Be careful with those." I yell over to John B as he drops one of my boxes on the ground. It's officially moving day for Rafe and I.
"Ya know, you could help out, rather than just standing and watching."
Rafe has already warned me that I will not be doing any lifting, even though I'm sure it would be fine. I do feel bad for not helping out. I go and pick up a box that has the word 'towels' written on it, knowing it will be relatively light.
"No." Rafe simply says as soon as I pick up the box. He grabs it from my arms and continues on to carry it inside. I smirk at John B and JJ, earning an eye roll in response.
The boys finish unloading the boxes from the truck just as another truck pulls up containing all of the large furniture. Thankfully the driver and his team unload those items so we get to take a break. Since Rafe wouldn't let me help, I decided to make a nice lunch for everyone. We all stand around the kitchen counter eating from paper plates, since our real plates are in a box somewhere and the table hasn't arrived yet.
We do some unpacking and before I know it the sun has started to set. "We should probably call it a night, guys." They all agree and everyone makes their way out the front door, leaving just Rafe and I in the house. He lovingly wraps his arms around my waist and leans down to rest his head on my shoulder. I know he much be exhausted, seeing as we have been moving and unpacking since early this morning.
"Ready for bed my love?" I ask him as I run gentle circles on his back.
He removes his head from my shoulder and looks down at me with a cheeky grin on his face, "or we could take a shower first."
*the next morning*
I wake up and try to let my eyes adjust to the bright morning sun shining in from the window. The smell of bacon immediately starts to fill the room so I excitedly jump out of of bed and follow the smell.
"Good morning." Rafe smiles at me as I make my way down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Morning." He is currently scooping some scrambled eggs onto a plate next to a pile of bacon. "You're cooking?" I ask him with a giggle.
He chuckles and hands a plate over to me. We eat our breakfast and end up spending the rest of the day unpacking and getting our new home set up. Rafe watches over me all day to make sure I don't lift anything too heavy. It honestly warms my heart to see how protective he is of me and the baby already.
