─ 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚗 ─"My favorite couple is back together!" Harley cheered as she noticed Corbyn walking though her front door, clinging onto Zara's hand to pull her after him.
Zara chuckled and rolled her eyes playfully, keeping a tight hold onto Corbyn's hand as he pulled both of them through the crowd of a party Harley and Jack were hosting tonight.
The couple had a nice night of eating the pasta Corbyn cooked for her, sipping some nice wine while talking about all the things they couldn't tell each other while not being in contact for so long. They weren't really planning on going to the party because they felt the need to be together to figure things out, but both of them also drank too much wine at dinner and found themselves wanting to party and tell their friend group things were going the right way.
"I'm gonna say hi to the boys for a sec, okay?" Corbyn announced after he stopped them from walking further through the crowd, spotting the guys in the corner next to the kitchen.
Zara nodded her head with a smile, closing her eyes as Corbyn planted a kiss onto her forehead. She kept a hold of his hand and pulled him back after he turned around, her free hand placed onto Corbyn's cheek. Her action caused a crimson red blush to form onto his cheeks, and it became even more prominent after Zara kissed him quickly. "Thank you for today, I really appreciate it."
"My pleasure," He answered genuinely, feeling how a good kind of tension was building up between them again. It made the butterflies erupt in his stomach as he backed away, seeing how Zara sent him a big grin before she was scooped away by Harley.
Corbyn felt a weight fall from his shoulders after he through about how tonight went. He didn't want to expect anything from it and was surprised Zara even showed up, but couldn't be happier when she actually did.
"Look at that grin," Daniel spoke up with a smirk, patting one of his best friends on the back once Corbyn approached the group. "I'm assuming everything went well?"
Corbyn found himself smiling, "Very well man, I couldn't be happier if I tried," He told them, earning a few cheers. "I mean- we still want to take things slow but I'm happy we're at least back on track."
Jonah smiled and nodded, "This is the happiest I've seen you in a few months man."
The brunette smiled and took the cup Zach handed him, knowing it was a drink to celebrate Corbyn and Zara getting in touch once again. "I'm still so in love with her it's frightening me."
"Hey stranger!" Zara chuckled once she finally found Corbyn after Jack dragged him to the dance floor to meet up with some of the girls. "Wanna get some fresh air?"
Corbyn took ahold of her smaller hands, tangling their fingers together before nodding his head, "Let's go."
She lead the way outside, where a few people were out talking and smoking. The loud party inside was a large contrast with the much quieter backyard, but both of them felt the need to wrap their heads around everything that happened these last few hours.
Corbyn had not expected Zara to come over to their place, but when he heard a knock on the front door at seven o'clock sharp, his heart couldn't stop beating out of his chest and Corbyn felt like fainting at that point.
He didn't expect the dinner to go so extremely well, the couple talking about old memories and share their favorite date stories had lead them both to get a feeling in the pit of their stomach; something they hadn't felt after the last time of seeing each other.
Zara found herself at ease after seeing Corbyn's nervous but genuine smile while he greeted her and let her in, letting loose once his familiar scent hit her.
It was quiet when both of them sat down on a lawn chair, but they didn't mind. Both of them wrapped their heads around the fact that this night must've been the clean slate they were both waiting for, and it caused Corbyn to smile to himself.
Even if his head was hanging low while he was looking at the rings on his fingers and she didn't even see his face, Zara figured he was blushing madly. She had been with this man for so many years, it was more than clear to her that this was a moment of realization for Corbyn.
"What are you thinking about?" Zara asked him, breaking the comfortable silence between them. "It must be great or inappropriate to get you smiling like that, Corbs."
Corbyn let out a breathy laugh and playfully rolled his eyes at the blonde sitting across from him. "It not inappropriate- for once it's not," He grinned, "I'm just- comprehending everything that's happened tonight."
"I mean," Zara sat up straight, "What else could I do besides run back to you after you wrote a fucking song about you still loving me while also despising the living daylight out of me?"
It caused both of them to laugh, Corbyn raising his hands up in defeat as he watched her take a sip from her drink while grinning. "I never said I despised you, asshole," He joked, "I only said I hated the way I loved- love you."
His words totally caught her off guard, her eyes immediately shooting up to meet Corbyn's to make sure she heard him correctly. He cleared his throat and rubbed his hands together, not knowing whether or not he should speak up before she would.
"Corbs-"
He shook his head and let out a breathy chuckle, wiping his clammy hands onto his jeans, "Z, it's okay if you don't feel the same way anymore. Let's just call it a night- I mean i should've never thought you still felt the same."
"You talk too much," She spoke up, smiling at him once he finally had the guts to look back at her, "You must be outta your fuckin' mind to think I don't feel the same way as you do."
