"I'll take care of it myself."

I heard my master said that made me look up to him from the couch. He stand up from his swivel chair before running his fingers through the silky strands of his black hair. A sign that he is frustrated.

Whoever the person he was talking on the other line of his phone had really called the storm. It seems like everything around turned dark and the gray clouds are coming this way.

"Liah, bring my coat!"

His tone was urgent, yet I can still hear the dominance he gave to me. I stand up as quickly as I could and goes to his closet. I didn't pay much attention to what kind of coat I could grab because everything on his closet were almost the same. And besides, he sound more urgent than usual. That act of him also made my adrenaline rush for no reason at all.

I helped him put it on without taking a glance of how he look at me or is he really looking at me. The scene at the bathroom still lingers in my head when I smelled the spicy scent of his shampoo. That was also the reason why I did not dare myself to look at him.

My fingers lingers on the cloth as I arrange his coat to him, adjusting it to his body mass. I stopped moving when his hand touched the side of my cheek, cupping my face. I tried not to let him notice my sudden dithery as I look past his body to where my gaze could land into.

"Are you avoiding me?"

He asked that made me blink a few times before removing my hands from his chest since I was holding his coat.

"No!"

I softly answered. His shadow have covered my shape as he bend down to look at me thoroughly.

"There's no one in here, why can't you look at me directly?"

He asked before touching my chin using his thumb and slowly lift it up to face him. I have no choice but to slowly move my eyeballs and look at him in the eyes. For the first time, I felt more uncomfortable. Not because he is my Master. The feeling I have when I can't look at him for the reason that he is my master is because I am scared or nervous at him. But this time, I know it's different.

I met his tired black orbs staring at me, at my face like he have become a robot scanning my skin before they landed on my eyes. I don't know how this man still made me sink by the way how he look at me. Like every time those eyes land on me, staring at my eyes like he can see my soul from it, my energy just slowly drops down. Making me weak and drained without even making effort.

"I'll try to go back before dinner, Kitten."

He said with a promising look. And the way how he called me in that nickname was way more softer than the last time I heard it from him.

I bowed my head when he gently touched the top my head before messing with my hair. Petting me like I am his dog. Wait, No! His Cat!

"If I can't go back before that, I'll ask Jarred to check on you, ok?"

He said mentioning the head of his slaves. I just slowly nod which made him let me go and he do the buttons of his coat. I watch him as he grab his phone from his glass table before he slipped it inside his pocket.

"If you are hungry, you're free to eat first. I'll tell Jarred to bring you some food."

I know he treat me more than anyone can treat their pet. The way how he make used of me is nothing more useless than the others. Yet, I don't want to get too attached to this. Sooner or later, maybe he'll change. A change I would never expect if I already believed to what he is showing right now. The best he could give me.
