𝐋𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝐀𝐫𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐧
I raised my hand above my head, blocking the sun's rays from hitting my face. My hair cascaded at the back of my neck, sending shivers down my spine. It was another day at the mansion of the highest Lord, the day we are leaving. No one knew if I will have the chance to go back here again. Athena smiled at me as she walk in her navy blue dress to the front porch. I lowered my head to greet her.
"Good morning Madamé!"
"Oh Liah, please call me Athena."
I bit my bottom lip looking up at her. She reached for my hand which I gladly accepted before she looked into my eyes, intently. Her warm blue orbs roam my face, memorizing every inch of me. I will miss her warmth. After this enchanting week, I'll have to go back to reality. No more dances, no more gardens, no more teas nor biscuits. But most of all, no more of her face and Akus'.
"Where's Pxyron?"
She asked looking for any sign of her beloved son. I gave her a warm smile when her eyes shifted back to mine. Xeus? I haven't found even a tiny glimpse of him since the moment I woke up. His part of the bed was already cold which only means that he had left early. Too early. And he didn't inform me of anything. Maybe he has a very urgent matter to attend to that he had trusted his assassin to take care of me.
I was about to open my lips to give her an answer when a car stopped in front of the mansion. Both Athena's and my attention shifted to the shining BMW M4. How do I know about that? Well, I just heard someone mention about it yesterday. It was newly brought by Xeus and I can't believe this assassin can be trusted with that. Obviously, besides crazy Hazel, Fyxis is the only one who matches his temperament. Hazel doesn't match him. That guy is a damn playful one.
"Good morning Madamé!"
He greeted, lowering his head a little. One thing I always noticed about Fyxis is that he greeted anyone in a way very unlikely to others. He only lowers his head to those who gained his respect. His position is almost the same as the last lord on the list. He only looked down in the presence of the other Lords, never bowing. To this family, he does. He was the highest lord's most trusted assassin after all. The only one who can stand beside Xeus without following too many rules.
"Fyxis, the formalities."
I haven't heard of his story. How he became Xeus' assassin but based on Athena's words, he has been with the lord for too long. I looked at him stunned after he gave Athena a warm smile in apology. I didn't know he knows how to smile. He always wears a stern face all around, all the time just like his master. He smirks but that one looks deadly and scary. This was the first time I witnessed him this gentle towards someone. And only Athena.
"I'm sorry Mother!"
He apologized which made Athena chuckles. I try hiding my surprise and curiosity. What's going on? Did he just call Athena, Mother? I haven't heard him mention "mother" towards her before. Is it because of other people? But why now?
