Her jaw drops but it did not last long. She shakes her head and focused on the task at hand. She looked at the doors that almost multiplied in her gaze. She had no time to check each one as she was running out of time. She need to pick one and deal with what her hand will choose to open.

She started running to what it seems like the fourth in her perspective. No one really knows which door was stated as the first or where it leads to. There’s no name nor signs pasted on each. As soon as she swirl the knob with her shaking hands and burst it open she was greeted with something red and fluffy. Her eyes started to follow through the length of the red carpet that leads to the stairs made of glass which was mixed with jade. The railings were made of solid gold that glistened to the sparkling diamond chandelier on the ceiling of the next floor. It was crafted well looking at the leaves and roses and thorns sculpted to hold the railing that could prick someone if not aware of the distance while going the path upstairs.

The structure itself already tells the viewer of how powerful those who resides in this majestic building. Stepping out from her heeled shoes that brought her ankle torture, she took a deep breath before gathering her strength and run through the stairs. Her skin glided through the gold railing as she asks for its support. Her prayer went loud in her head, begging to surpass this. More like she hoped of winning and earn her freedom.

Despite her swollen wounds she still manages to run as fast as her feet can. She tried to ignore the pain from her wounds and from the muscles that penetrated while holding her weight. As minutes passed by, her pace becomes slow. A moment later, she stops. Her hands reached for her muscles at the back of her legs as they were about to burst. She gave them a light massage to loosen her tendon’s tightness. She pounds them with her fist while looking at the stairs that looks endless.

She closed her eyes, urging herself to run because her distance wasn’t that yet far from those who were about to chase her. Five minutes was just a short time for her to advance herself. Not mentioning her condition that doesn’t help with her situation. She face the stairs again, she was still in the middle and she needed to act as soon as possible. Taking another breath to encourage herself once again, she stand up straight and started running.

Ignoring the pain that’s crushing her hope of winning, her hisses echoed and was soon replaced by her heavy pants when she reached the floor where the doors were located. She face another batch of three doors but this time there’s a sign at the top of the centre one that says “2nd” which states that she reached the 2nd floor.

It was just the 2nd floor yet she was already breathing so heavy and loud, will she make it to the 24th? Well, it’s better to fail trying than failing without even daring to try right? She wasn’t that type of person who believed any sayings but right now, that’s the only thing that’s holding her sane.

She reached for the middle door. She sigh in relief when she found another set of staircase. That means she got the right door open. She didn’t give herself another seconds and run through the shining staircase. She kept on running, taking a few seconds break, run, opening doors, and run again. After a few minutes a loud noise rang her ears, alerting her senses. The predators are on their way to take their prey. She just reached the 7th floor and their noises already reached her ears.

She let herself hold her knees for a second before she started running through the long hallway. There was only one door when she reached the 7th floor that’s why she has no choice but to look for another exit except for the freaking heavy guarded elevator. The noises went loud again, some men were calling her names which made her adrenaline rush. The sound of her heartbeats were almost unrecognisable with her heavy breaths. Her body was now soaking in wet in sweat like she just came out of the pool.
