Love in the Movers

Ripping off the Band-aid

Opal's POV

"I need to tell Bolin the truth. I don't love him anymore, at least not in a romantic way. I love him as a good buddy and I need to tell him. I can't keep stringing him on like this! Oh (Y/N) was right I need to just get it over with, like ripping off a band-aid. Sure it's going to hurt but it will be better in the long run for both of us. Okay deep breath.... In and out. Here goes nothing."

I take out my glider and lift off the Island towards the city. (Y/N) told me they aren't shooting today so I know I won't find him at the studio. So lets start with him and Mako's apartment. I have the way there memorized by now so I take my glider in that direction.

Landing in front of the door I take a deep breath and knock.

"coming!" I hear Bolin's voice call form the other side. Then comes the loud banging and mumbled words of annoyance, he's probably tripped over stuff in his rush to the door. He has always been a bit clumsy. I am so lost in my thoughts that I don't even realize he has opened the door. "Opal! Hi! how are you!" He envelops me in one of his signature bare hugs, and snaps me out of my daze. "I missed you." He's not making this any easier. After a bit I gently  push him back.

     "Bolin we need to talk. Can I come in?" I saw his face shift when he heard the sad tone of my voice. 

     "Ya, ya of course you can come in." He stepped aside and let me pass into his home. we walked over and sat on the couch facing each other. "so what do you want to talk about?" His voice was as sweet as ever and I couldn't bare to look him in the eyes, so I just looked down at my hands in my lap. 

"Bolin we need to break up." The room went quite for a moment so I finally looked up at him. He had tears pouring out of his eyes. I feel so bad about this but it needed to be done. "I'm sorry Bolin." And with that I got up from the couch and ran out of the apartment. I immediately took off with my glider, trying to put as much distance between me and the man who's heart I just broke. 

"It will be fine Opal, It had to be done." I try and reassure myself as I fly away and don't look back. 

Bolin's POV

"Bolin we need to break up." The second those words left her mouth a waterfall started running out of my eyes. My body froze up on itself as I felt my heart shatter in my chest. I mean we were on a break but I just though she needed a little space. I thought we were doing really good together. Mabey I wasn't able to give her the love she deserved with me being so busy with the Movers. 

These thought were barreling through my head all at once when she looked up at me. 

"I'm sorry Bolin." she says as she bolts of the couch and runs out of my apartment, and out of my heart. My body finally decides to move as I see her take off on her glider, and fly away. I stand in my doorway still crying rivers as I watch the sour off into the distance. 

"Goodbye Opal." I whisper to myself as I finally just break down and fall on my knees sobbing in the doorframe. I don't care if my neighbors think I'm insane all that matters in this moment sobbing my broken heart out.

after a few hours of me crying on the floor Mako comes home and immediately rushes to my side. 

"Bolin what happened?" He get under my shoulder and hoists me up off the floor and takes me inside. 

"Opal left me." I mumble to him as I sniff my now very runny nose. He gave a sigh as he sat me down on the couch then went back to close the door. 

"I'm sorry that happened bro, I know you really liked her." He comes back from the door and sits next to me. 

"I thought we were in love. I thought she was going to be my one and only..." Mako pats me on the back and he  tries to cheer me up. I ate a lot of noodles trying to drown my sadness.

Sorry this chapter was so short but I was really struggling to decide on how the break up should go. Well I hope you liked it and I will see you next time in 'Love in the Movers.'
