Chapter 16: Safe Base

  I went inside building 28, saw a man sitting on a chair behind a table and some guns on the walls. He said '' What do you need? and who sent you?'' I replied '' Zayir did and I need some shells for my shotgun and will take some assault rifle'' He got up approached a box was in corner of the room took out a small box and hand it to me. It seems Zayir is quite known among the soldiers. He gave me the rifle along with 2 extra magazines and said '' if you need more you need to pay so make sure to use your bullets well.''. I walked out of the building we still had few hours before the sunrise. I saw some soldiers throwing some salt on the floor to cover up for the smell of blood. Stone came from behind me and said ''You did good new guy even though your shots were useless you still tried to do something.'' then he continued '' Were you shooked from what we can do'' and he laughs. I replied ''Shocked is a small word.'' then  I asked ''Do you think we will have more action today too?'' he replied '' Well usually at night we all go underground but since it is a new stop, the underground part isn't done yet. I hope not we need some sleep and we have already lost 13 soldiers.'' then he continued ''Well I will get some sleep as much as  I can, you should do the same.'' I nodded my head and heard towards my room and slept in the hidden place on the floor.

  I woke up the next morning, we didn't waste any time and we headed towards the safe hideout. It didn't take long before we reached the safe region. I got out of the car from the door in the back of it. I froze in my place as I stared. I saw some huge buildings connected to each other with tunnels in the mid of the air. I was shocked how could such a huge building not get destroyed or be attacked by demons. James said '' If you are shocked from now, you will be more shocked by how many people we have.''. Anna smiled as she turns around and says '' come on let's go I am sure you will have some fun being surrounded by people since you were mostly alone'' I stayed silent and didn't reply. I looked behind as I saw a big fence as I saw 8 meters tall doors closing behind us from the sides what strange it seems it was working by electricity. As I walked in the streets I saw people wearing clothes and living life as it was normal, there were kids playing chase in front of us, there were trees, houses and buildings.  It wasn't what I expected at all, It was as if it was a whole civilization by itself. It was as if they made society in here and it is completely safe... but how. 

  I followed Anna and others as they lead me towards an enormous building that was heavily guarded more than any other place inside the fence walls. There were guards here and there that were armed but not this much number. We all got inside the building, I saw around 7 desks, It was a building of 3 floors. As we walk in ''The first floor is for any problem that would occur inside the walls. These guys here submit any problem to the leader. He must know every problem'' James said. We walked through the stairs to the second floor as I saw 1 desk in front of the door as a girl was sitting and she looked at us and said '' Welcome back'' as she was smiling, there were few guards as well on the side of the hallway. James said '' This is the second floor in here is where the leader is and this beautiful lady is Katherine''. Katherine said '' I will inform him you are here'' she stood up went inside the room. She then came out, opened the door, and said ''Please come in''. We walked inside the room and she closed the door behind us once we walked in. I saw one guy sitting on a desk as he was viewing some papers. He had short black hair and he was dressed almost the same as Stos, the captain of the stopping place. His clothes were as if he was military and had 3 stars on his shoulder. He stopped viewing the papers and looked at us.
