Chapter 10: The Gift

  I am dead anyway, that's what I thought before going inside the cave. They can't follow me here and if they did they will probably die. I throw some salt on the ground as I entered and I heard a growl of disturbed from the creatures. I could hear some guys behind me and they seem too blinded by greed that they will follow me. They must be desperate for ritual if they will follow me here. I started crouching as I could hear these creatures getting close to me smelling the blood they must be eager to eat me. They got closer towards me as it was too dark to see them well. I froze in my place making any sound that would make them attack me, I can't imagine what will happen to me if they got me. The creatures already know that I am in the cave but don't know exactly where thanks to the salt. I was losing consciousness as these got closer and closer, salt helps but won't stop them from finding me. I have come a long way with this wound, I don't think I can keep moving any further I thought. I guess this is the end. I could hear them scratching the ground of the cave as they are approaching me more and more. I heard these guys who were following me going inside the cave as they opened their flashlights and that was a big mistake. The creatures next to me growl before charging towards them, I heard them start shooting right after. I started to crawl slowly, I barely can move now.  

  I heard a creature behind me as he approaches me, I thought the guys will keep them busy but it seems they could smell blood in a different direction than others. There was a hole inside the cave and inside it, I saw a light inside the cave coming from cracks within the cave. It is a very small light It won't save me even if I lay under it but I had to try and so I crawled towards it. The creature was toying with me as I could hear it slowly approaching me as I crawl under the light lay on my back and look at it. I didn't understand why... but It stopped approaching for the first time in my entire life ever since it all started up until now didn't see these creature being terrified and backing away. I felt relieved I lay on my back as I start breathing heavily almost dead from bleeding. I think It was worth it to die saving some people better than dying on my own or by these creatures. 

  I heard creepy laughter from within the shadows of the cave. The laughter sent chills through my body. ''On the verge of death, humans get desperate to survive'' I gathered what's left in me and spoke '' Who are you?''. I heard the laughter again  '' What if I told you there is a way to live, There's a way to survive, There's a way to end all this'' as I heard his words I saw part of it being revealed by light yet he wasn't being burned by it. I saw part of his arm It was as if a spider leg that was blackly separated with small blue-grey color gaps. ''What are you?'' I asked as I saw his finger revealed as it was sharp looked similar to spider leg yet different. ''It doesn't matter, It all will be revealed by time. Will you sacrifice everything to end this hell'', I replied '' Who do I know If I can trust you, you are just like them'', It replied '' I am your only hope, I could let you end all this but only if you agree''. Part of me wanted to survive but I might get possessed, it might be a trick but my body was almost dead it won't gain anything by possessing my almost dead body. I didn't want to die yet if there is hope I want to see it '' I... agree'' I heard the laughter again as my eyes slowly close... is this the end for me?
