Chapter 13: The road

  I was standing in front of a burned house as the redhead girl approached me and said '' Since we are in a hurry we didn't introduce ourselves well. I am Anna'' I replied ''I am Micheal''. She looked at the burned house which was in front of my safe house and asked '' So what are we looking at? was this house of a friend of yours?'' I didn't say anything I just stayed in silence. She continued ''It must be harsh to be here all alone for so long. I can't imagine what you had to go through to survive''.   ''This house was everything I ever had and I lost it'' I said and after that, a guy approached and said '' It is time'' I carried my bag from the ground and put it on my back. We got in one of the vehicles and start driving the sun was still up but soon will get dark we only had a couple of hours to get to a safe place I had no idea how long it would take or if we would be able to reach there alive but I had no other option but to trust them.. staying here with all these dead bodies will bring a lot of these creatures to us. In the car on my right was Anna, in front of me there was the old man. He said '' We didn't have time to properly introduce ourselves, my name is James and I believe you already met Miyamoto and Zyair.'' He pointed at the black huge guy that looked like a titan and said ''This muscular guy's name is stone, you will see how strong and reliable he is soon''. Stone looked at me and said '' I heard you are tough we will see about that soon, you better be good at surviving as I have been told'' James looked at the young guy who was sitting next to him and said '' this guy is Gabriel one day he will realize his full potential I hope'', Gabriel looked down and then James looked at the girl and said '' This is Anna it is rare to find a natural redhead, trust me she is special'. Anna said '' oh I have already introduced myself and thank you for the compliment but can you not make things creepy and weird?''. James laughed and said '' My life is short if you haven't noticed I am only a few steps away from grave so let me have my fun'' 

 I looked at James and said ''Tell me what's the plan to end all this? No, never mind that first tell me how are we gonna reach this safe base of yours without getting killed  by these things?'' James replied ''You have no patience but can't blame you it is a lot to take in. It is not easy to travel of course especially at first, we had to establish safe places all along our way of travel they are like our checkpoints or stop stations, it takes few days to travel from base to your town, trust me it was hell at first but eventually we were able to do so. We have drawn a map of all the places we have found out so far. You must be curious whether we will reach before dark or not well to give you short answer we have no other choice we either reach it or we die.'' he laughs. I asked James ''How is that possible that the sword guy could use fire? is it possible for me to do these things?'' James laughed '' You mean Miyamoto I suppose, well since it all started some people have gain powers but not any human can do it if that's what was your question.'' he stopped smiling as he stared into my eyes ''some gain power to see things others can't see. Some obtained items that able them to use strange power as well. A lot has changed ever since it all started, it seems you have been stuck in your town way too long.'' I felt how naive I was I didn't realize such people existed, It might have been the best option for me to cooperate with them. They know way more things than I do.

The car suddenly stopped, as the guy who was next to Gabriel was holding his gun as his walkie-talkie suddenly came a voice out of it ''we reached our first stop'' Gabriel opened the lock for the back door of the car and we got out of the car. Anna stretched out after she got out of the car, stone seemed relieved to get out of the car as it seems it was so tiny for his size, Gabriel doesn't speak a word. I looked around as I saw a fence surrounding small buildings as some guards on some towers. James said ''it is a stopping place it has enough supplies for few dozens of people. It is repaired repeatedly after each attack, these creatures haunt us continuously but ther one we are right now is a new stop. If you are curious what are these creatures why don't you visit me later but make sure to come before it is dark.'' Anna got closer to me and said ''Make sure to settle down in any of these buildings, Stone will talk to the guards. oh yeah by the way get ready for the night we might be attacked''. All that's happening around me is strange they talking about these creatures if they can handle them easily but I thought to myself maybe later James will know what happened to me in that cave... was It a dream? no, it can't be.
