Chapter 20: The Vote

  Everyone waited for this guy to speak, Diana says ''It is true vice-commanders are allowed to attend but to speak as well?? You better teach him manners, Leo''.  Leo responds''He is vice commander Blake, he is very reliable and has more experience in commanding than any vice commander under me. Forgive me supreme leader but would you allow him to speak.''. Korsal said '' Yes he may proceed'' Blake says ''Allow me to lead my division and assist them, they have more experience than most units. They fought demons more often than any other soldier defending the new stop and other stops. They have some elites that fought in the war of sharsel. My division will have the least casualty than any other division. I am loyal to the region and willing to do anything including sacrificing my life and others for its safety.''. Borchav says ''Well he had volunteered and I see 1 division won't matter'' Gorsol looked at him, Borchav coughed and said '' I mean it might bring us the benefit of finding new cursed items to fight the demons just like the black sword Gorsol possesses.  It might even add a new place for supplies or open new routes for exchange with another region.'' Damian says ''I won't change my mind it is too dangerous''.  Diana says ''It could put our region in danger of invaders, I am sure in the future they will ask for more help and they might fail in closing the first gate. Losing elites could allow rumors to spread and put us in a bad position.''. Korsal said ''Is there anyone who would like to mention a point or ask something?''. The room stayed in silence.

  Korsal said ''Then it is time to vote, would you give permission for this mission?''. He looked at Mia and she nodded her head yes. He looked at Damian and he said ''My vote remains the same, No.'' He looked at Leo and he nodded yes. He looked at Gorsol and he stared at Leo and asked'' Leo do you trust him completely with this mission?''. Leo responds ''Yes and with my life as well he is that capable.'' Korsal then continues ''James are you willing to put your own captains that you had recruited for the success of this mission'' and James respond ''That's the reason I recruit them for, to be heroes.'' Gorsol says ''Then I do give my permission.'' Korsal looked at Borchov and he nods yes. He looked at Diana and she says '' I won't give permission to start that mission.''. Korsal looked at Steve and said '' Steve what's your vote? You haven't said much since the meeting started.''. Steve responds ''Observing is better than sharing my view Supreme leader. Their mission might allow us access to ruins unlike nothing before It could help us advance our technology more. I would give my permission supreme leader.''. 

  Korsal then proceeds '' You have 7 votes out of 9'' I wondered what he meant by that the high ranks are 7, he didn't vote and James isn't counted. James responds '' Thank you for your extra 2 votes, Supreme leader.'' Korsal says ''Don't die there James you are important in here don't forget that. I allow this mission to start you will be called soon and granted division under Blake's command. This meeting is over. James I would like to talk to you and your captains in my office.'' Then he got up and walk out of the meeting room. James got up and said to Diana "Think of my offer." She ignored him. We went to Korsal office he was sitting on his chair drinking tea in his cup as it seems. He said to James " I trust you with this mission. Come back alive you and these captains represent a pillar in our strength if it collapse our region might be in danger from outsiders." James sit down on one of the 2 chairs in front of his desk and he says "Korsal we will succeed it is a must. We will survive no matter what." Korsal says " You just came back and now will have to say farewell again my old friend. If you found yourself in a situation you can't win then retreat" James nodded his head in agreement. I am stepping into a danger I never dreamed of before but this is the first step for salvation.
