Chapter 9: The Cave

  On my way to the woods, they were shooting at me but they were too far to be accurate in the shooting. The instant I reached the forest I drift the car and got out of the car. I opened the small bag that had salt in it and sprayed it a bit on the ground so they wouldn't where I would go precisely. I was bleeding a lot, I was exhausted and barely able to walk properly but I kept going The further I talk them to the woods the more likely the people I saved will survive. I knew that I am most probably won't survive. I kept walking but I tripped and fell to the ground I growl as I hide behind a tree. I could hear them approaching closer towards me and at the same moment I heard someone in front of me, I thought to myself are they one of their guys who went into the woods. He was wearing the same clothes as them but it was dirtier than their clothes. He was walking in a weird way, he had no gun in his hands. I was on my left side as I heard the ones who were following me approach him, It seems I was right he was their friend. He was staring at the ground. When they approached him he smiled slightly and grab one of them as he opens his mouth as a dark matter came out of the guy being held by his weird friend. Their friend falls on the ground with white eyes and a pale body he was dead. He laughs a loud laugh as if they were at least 2 voices laughing. It took them some time to start shooting as they were scared by what they saw. The instant they start shooting him a dak hand came out of his mouth. I didn't waste more time this is a golden opportunity for me to run further as they are distracted but it seems they are not the only threat in this woods now... It must be the smell of blood that brought that possessed man towards them. I am sure the others are now have been informed that I went to the woods, I will be haunted by all of them now. 

  I hear some of them ahead of me '' He must be here keep searching we need him alive if he fights back kill him.''. They must be talking about me just as I thought they are informed already about me. I throw some salt as they must have figured out my place through blood. I didn't knew how many of them are there but I know one thing for sure engaging them is not an option. Just in case, I clenched my hand tighter on the rifle handle. I started walking carefully as I heard quiet laughter from the right side. I tried to hide behind a tree as I start slowly crouching past him. The trees cover the sun some light passes through but it is enough to let these creatures hide here. I saw the possessed guy look upfront towards the armed men that were supposed to be his allies. I looked at them as they were making noises walking and talking to each other not realizing that their possessed friend was in front of them.  His face turned pale as his eyes slowly turn red as his nails slowly grow sharper, his bones slowly crack as he charges towards them I couldn't help but freeze in my place from the terrifying look of him tearing his friends apart as they shoot him yet the bullets doesn't stop him from attacking. The instant his body was filled with bullets, a dark hand appeared from his mouth as slowly a dark matter appears from inside his body as it was covered with a grey hood that had chains in his arms that were black and had a scythe in his right hand. It saw the light that was going through the gaps of trees and the chains on his left-hand starts moving and tie one of them as it drags on the ground towards him and he took the scythe and made a small cut on the guy left hand the instant he screams he slides his hand inside his mouth and starts to go inside him. They started shooting but all in vain the bullets went through his body as if it were nothing. I remember it clear that day as I gathered my courage and started to move further into the woods as I started to run away as I possibly can but the wound made me unable to run well. 

  I heard a gunshot from behind as I fall to the ground and they started shooting as I take cover behind the tree. I was so exhausted, breathing so heavily, bleeding a lot as I heard one of them say ''You are dead now''. I took the rifle and using the tree as cover I started shooting from behind the tree showing only my head and only part of my body. They were 9 of them in front of me I missed most of my shots I barely can see well as I felt dizzy from the blood loss. I have around 12 bullets left and one more ammo for the rifle, I put my bag on my side as I took the second magazine and place it on the ground as I could hear them approaching me. I heard a scream as I heard a gunshot follow It. I took a peek as I saw one of them dead on the ground as there was a hole from his back to the front of his stomach. They were shooting him as he was running towards them one by one tearing them apart. He took the head of the second guy as It went out of the possessed body that was filled with bullets and possessed another one right in front of their eyes. He was killing them all, I thought no way I could run away now It must be the same creature from earlier... I have to kill it. I threw the old magazine and put the second one into the rifle. I took out a cocktail and started making Molotov and I turned around from the tree to see only 3 are left alive. I watched him as he killed one of them opening his mouth and tearing it out of his face and he went towards the other guy as I shoot the last one left in the back of his head and saw the posses guy getting up after he was on top of the guy that was left with white eyes and pale face. I started shooting him focusing on his head as he runs towards me and then I saw the dark hand coming out of his mouth without thinking twice I threw the Molotov at it as it comes out. It came out screaming, I stared at Its red eyes. It had no body but darkness his hood was burning as the chains around his arms started to turn red as if it was lava. He swings his scythe as I fall on my back terrified from what I was seeing. I saw his dark body disappears as the empty hood turns to gray smoke. I dropped the gun as I kept walking further into the woods as I knew I am dying and I am surrounded by these guys and creatures. I have no power to fight back anymore barely able to walk. Heard a sound coming from behind '' He must be here, hurry let's get him'' as I stood in front of a cave hearing noises of growling coming from within the cave.  I put my hand in my pocket as I grabbed what's left from the small bag of salt and stared at the cave... I have no other choice.
