Chapter 43 (Part 1)
The start of a new morning at the training camp brought new rays of hope in the minds of the young minions. Nevertheless, there was some noise behind her as an annoyed Prachi could hear when she appeared in the field. It was from the heated argument that Rehaan and Ishaan had initiated even before the beginning of the third round on the following day.
The night before had been difficult for both Prachi and Rehaan, as they were shocked by the extent of the disclosure of the teammates for the next round. The two boys were at loggerheads who were now coincidentally tied to play together in the same team and as the same pair.
Shalini had been so long the happiest, who was still trying to get into the belief that she was the first ranker in the previous round. After having lost confidence even before the training had begun, she was being injected by the encouraging words of Dhairya who had been somehow the support pillar behind her initial success. She was genuinely thankful to him and hoped to do something for him in return if she ever found a chance.
On the other hand, Aarohi was the saddest of all. She had even refused to speak with Ishaan, warning him to mend his ways as soon as possible and help her gain back her lost friendship status with her companions. Ishaan was as usual stubborn and had told her that he had always seen Rehaan as his opponent from the day he had joined the camp.
"It is very unfortunate that you are my partner in this round." Rehaan scoffed while Prachi held his hand tightly to prevent him from indulging in a physical brawl. "I am warning you, Ishaan, if you try spoiling the game, I won't let you get away freely."
"I think you want to scare me but I won't seriously consider it. Ishaan Singh Talwar is so valiant that he just doesn't get horrified by anything." Ishaan kept himself calm for the first time in all the days he had been there as he stared at Aarohi from the corner of his eyes. "If the game gets spoilt, we both will lose points may even get eliminated. You must have known it, Rehaan."
"That means you won't argue with me during the round," Rehaan prophesied while Ishaan simply nodded which confused him and Prachi. Though Ishaan's behavior was seemingly different than it was usually all the time, it was favorable for the twins.
When Brigadier Meethi and Major Godbole appeared in the field, the children dispersed quickly and pursed their lips. As a whistle was hurled in the air, Major Godbole began with his speech.
"Welcome back to a brand new day with a set of new challenges. Before we detail you the rules for today, we will have to let you know that the envelopes which were collected yesterday will be used for the games tomorrow, i.e. on the final day of your training."
"The detailing of the final day will be done later as it is the most important day of the entire session. But right now, let us focus on today's tasks." Brigadier Meethi picked up the rule book from the table and read, "The rules for today are very simple. The sixteen of you will be given a blank piece of paper on which you will have to write down what you think your special skills are. After we get those words in our hands, we will instruct the next set of rules."
The blank sheets were quickly distributed among the trainees. While some of them began scribbling down whatever they thought their skills were, Prachi sat with her palms clasped together. She wasn't exactly aware of what her skills were as she had never found the opportunity to analyze her own self-endurance.
When each one had submitted the papers one by one, Prachi sat rooted on the ground and closed her eyes. She realized that she had never analysed what skills she possessed, and whatever she thought she could do wasn't suited to be classified as her skills.
