"What do you guys want?" I ask impatiently. I have had enough surprise encounters for today. I just want to head to Dewford Town and deliver the letter. The leader snickers.

"Why don't you ask the scientist that's cowering behind you." I sigh and pinch the bridge of my nose. Of course Prof. Cozmo is in trouble again.

"Alright Prof. What do they want?" I ask without turning around. The Prof. shudders.

"T-they want the s-special Devon Parts that we have been w-working on." I nod and silently grab a pokeball off of my belt. I hold it up for them to see. They just stare at me.

"I'll give you one warning. Leave him alone or you will be facing both an angry Combusken and an angry Chatot." I warn them. Chatot smirks.

"You got that right." he says menacingly. The grunts just laugh. The leader chuckles and takes out his own pokeball. The others follow suit.

"I would rethink that if I were you." he says. He throws out the ball and a Poochyena comes out. The others do the same and soon I'm facing 6 growling poochyenas.

"You might want to do what the masters says unless you want to be scarred for life." The largest one barks. I don't back down from the threat. They're just wasting their breath.

"Ya..." I say, pretending to think about the question, "how about...no." I answer and toss my pokeball. Combusken comes out and lands on the ground. Dark-types against a fighting-type. I wonder how this will end. Before the grunts can react I'm already calling out commands.

"Combusken use Double-Kick on those three and Chatot use Fury Swipes on the others." They immediately spring into action. Combusken attacks three of the Poochyena and knocks them back with his super effective move. Chatot's claws glow red and he delivers a series of powerful jabs at the leader and the other two poochyenas. The grunts retaliate though.

"Poocheyena use bite!" They all yell simultaneously. The poochyenas spring forward. Chatot manages to fly out of their reach so they all tackle Combusken. He yelps as he disappears under the pile.

"Help me!" He screeches. I notice Chatot circling above them.

"Okay, Chatot. Use a Hyper Voice and Aerial Ace combination." I shout. Chatot screeches at the top of his lungs and the poochyenas fall off Combusken in surprise. Chatot then powers up and dives towards them. His body becomes cloaked in white and he slams into the six poochyenas. They skid backwards and topple over. I smirk, seeing my chance to defeat the grunts.

"Time for revenge, Combusken. Use Flamethrower!" Combusken leaps up and sucks in a gulp of air. A second later he lets loose a powerful Flamethrower that engulfs the poochyenas. Once it is over the poochyenas are lying in a pile in front of the shocked grunts. The leader snorts and returns his Poochyena an stalks off. The others do the same and run after their leader.

"Why did they want those parts?" I ask Prof. Cozmo. He appears in front of me and bows his head to thank me. His glasses slip down his nose so he readjusts them before answering.

"They told me they want the parts for a submarine they're building. I don't know what their true purpose is though." Chatot looks at me and I look back at him, shaking my head. His head droops in defeat. I spot the package in Prof. Cozmo's hand. He notices me looking at the package. A grin spreads across his face.

"You're a pretty strong trainer. Do you think you can deliver this package to Slateport City? I can really use the help." he asks. I groan. Oh joy, another mission. Might as well since I am going to be traveling through Slateport. I give him a reluctant nod and he shoves the package into my hands.

"Great. I need to go. Mr. Stone will want to know about this. Goodbye for now." he rushes into the building.

"Ugh, I think I'm getting a headache." I moan, rubbing my temple. Chatot looks at me sympathetically.

"Let's get going. We still need to deliver that letter to Steven." he says. I groan again.

"Don't remind me." We start walking back to the center to heal Combusken and Chatot. Suddenly a flash of purple flies past the corner of my eye. I tilt my head slightly just in time to see Paul slip out from behind a tree and walk briskly in the other direction. I narrow my eyes in suspicion.

"Hey, Chatot..." I whisper.

"Yes?" He asks, turning towards me.

"Did you see Paul come out from behind that tree?" I whisper, pointing at the tree in question. Chatot looks over my shoulder at the tree and then at Paul who has now slowed down and is walking casually down the road. He turns back to me. He looks worried.

"Do you think he's following us?" He asks. I nod in response.

"I think so. Why else would we see him if he's already been here? I just don't get why he is following us." Chatot snickers.

"Stalker much?" He says jokingly. I laugh and continue walking to the center. I frown. This is bad. If he is following us then it is more likely he will figure out who I am. This situation has just gotten very serious. Who knows how long he will be stalking us. This region is just full of problems for us and I don't like it one bit.
