"We need to hurry," I growl, hugging Paul tighter as the wind buffets me from both sides relentlessly. The sun is still a burning ball of fire and the sky has turned a vibrant orange because of Groudon. Paul scowls and shakes his head.
"I know that already, but Salamence can't go any faster," he says. Salamence snarls in agreement. I frown and look down as Sootopolis appears below us. I still need to heal my Pokemon as well, but I don't have the time. Wait, I have an idea. I glance down at Chatot who is squished between us with his feathers fluffed up, trying to protect himself from the howling wind. I poke his head and he looks up at me curiously. I smile and grab my belt from around my waist, holding it out to him.
"Can you dive down and go to the Pokemon center? I need to have them healed," I ask him. He nods and grabs the belt in his claws. He wiggles out from between us and looks down, spotting the red roof below. He smirks and launches off, diving down to the city. Paul glances over his shoulder at me before turning back around.
"What's the parrot doing?" He asks. I frown and punch him lightly.
"He's going to heal my Pokemon," I reply, crossing my arms. Paul chuckles lightly and I can tell he's smirking.
"You might want to hold on unless you want to get thrown off," he chuckles. I squeak when another wind current hits me and I quickly grab onto Paul again, hugging him tightly. He's so annoying sometimes. He just had to say that. I scowl and focus my attention on searching for May and Drew. I scan the streets below, looking for the familiar Grasshead. I see a group of people standing before a set of doors and I narrow my eyes. One has steel blue hair, another has light brown hair, and the third has bright emerald green hair.
"There!" I exclaim, pointing at them. It is kind of hard to miss three people with such intriguing hair color. Paul nods and Salamence dives towards the group, slowing down a bit to let us slide off. Paul and I leap off and land on the ground before Steven. Paul quickly returns his Salamence and walks up to Steven with me in tow.
"What's going on?" He asks, crossing his arms. I poke my head around Paul and stare at Steven curiously. Steven sighs and shakes his head, pointing to the set of doors.
"It looks like we were beaten here," he says dejectedly. I look towards the doors and growl when I see May engaging in another argument with Maxie. The brunette is flaring up at him while Maxie just stands his ground calmly, looking bored with the whole conversation. I glare darkly at him, thinking about all the ways I can murder him and torture. He is going to get it now. He is not getting away this time. I storm over to them and shove Maxie to the ground.
"Why must you do this to me?!" I scream at him. I go to punch his face in, but Paul grabs my hand and pulls me back, restraining me from causing anymore damage. Maxie smirks and stands up, brushing himself off and adjusting his cracked glasses.
"Looks like I have some company," he says. I snarl at him and struggle even harder against Paul, but all that does is make him tighten his grip on me. Ohh, how I so want to bust his nose right now. He caused me so much pain, so why can't I return the favor? I finally calm down after a few moments and stand there glaring menacingly at Maxie. Paul shakes his head and leans down.
"I wouldn't do anything stupid if I were you. He can easily turn it around," he whispers to me. I sigh in defeat, knowing how truthful that statement is and nod, staring at the ground. Paul lets go of me, but stays by my side. I hear a chirp and my right shoulder suddenly becomes heavy. I see Chatot with my belt in his beak and I smile at him gratefully, before quickly clipping it back on and turning to face Maxie again. He smirks and laughs evilly.
"In guessing you know what's here," he says.
"You bet we know!" May shouts back, still being restrained by Drew. Maxie chuckles and walks up to them.
