Cassie
December 24th, 1975
The annual Black Christmas party was happening tomorrow. Walburga was busy getting everything prepared and have Cassie, Sirius, and Regulus all fitted into proper attire. They were in Diagon Alley, getting fitted. They all dreaded it; Regulus was the only one who actually put up with it though. Sirius wouldn't stand still and Cassie complained every five minutes.
"Look, your mother pays me good money for your fittings and the youngest is the only one cooperating. Will you please stand still, Mr. Black?"
Cassie scoffed. "Then put me in a suit and Sirius in a dress. What is it with these gender roles? If my mother can pay for all of this and more, maybe she'll pay for people to not give a fuck about clothes."
She could see Sirius and Regulus hold in their laughter. The seamstress rolled her eyes, dropping everything, and walking out.
"Well," Sirius said, "There goes the third one."
They all laughed. "You two are assholes," Regulus said.
"Yeah, says the one laughing too," Cassie replied, grinning. They all stopped when the door slammed open. It was their mother.
She pointed at Sirius. "You. Come with me. Orion will get you two later." When they left, Cassie immediately got her coat. She got Regulus's too and threw it at him.
"We're going, come on."
Regulus trudged his coat on as she muttered a spell. "Accio broom." She took Regulus's hand, muttered an invisibility spell, and hoped onto her broom. She flew them back to 12 Grimmauld Place. They snuck in through her window and heard shouting from the living room.
"Stay here," Cassie whispered. She ran quietly downstairs and snuck over to the living room. Something about discipline and responsibility. The seamstress. "Fuck," she muttered. Sirius was getting blamed for her actions.
Her eyes widened when she heard a loud noise. It sounded like a slap. Cassie rushed into the living room and saw Sirius on the floor, touching his cheek.
"Get away from him."
Walburga's jaw tightened. "Your father was supposed to pick you up. Have fun explaining this to him."
"I don't care."
She laughed. "You will. Say, how has school been? I've heard rumors of the Quidditch team."
"Yeah? Do you believe them?"
"Should I?" She looked at Sirius. Sirius shook his head.
Cassie smiled at him. "Let's go back-" She felt a hand tugging at her hair.
"You're not going anywhere." Walburga's breath smelled strongly of alcohol. "What the fuck have you been doing, Cassiopeia? Quidditch? Brainwashing Regulus? Fooling around? Or how about I just see for myself."
"What-"
"Legilimens!"
Cassie did everything in her power that she could to cut out Lily's face. Only her red hair was exposed. But the kiss, the holding hands, the dance, her confession. All of it had been leaked. Her relationship with Emmeline was also leaked, but Cassie forced herself out of the charm before her face was shown.
