Chapter 14 - Sebastian's POV.

I smiled sadly and tucked a piece of hair behind Remmi's ear.

“It’s okay, Remmi. Listen to me, baby, please, stop crying." I said wiping the crystal tears from her eyes.

I stared at her with pity. She always tried to be the strong one, even as a child. But she doesn't get everything comes at a price. The price she had to pay was that she couldn't be herself. She had to hide behind a cold regal facade and she had been doing pretty well, until she made a friend and got attached, too attached.

"Anneliese." Her name sounded foreign on my lips.

She was an interesting character, no doubt. A girl born with silver hair, which when turned, the tips colored themselves red.  How her eyes changed to an unnatural cat-like brown and red. How her eyes naturally dyed themselves the coven's color without the dye, I have no idea.

"Se-Sebastian," a tiny voice said.

I blinked. "Huh?" I looked down to see Remmi's tear stained face look up at me.

I forgot about Remmi.

"W-What do I do? I-I'm not strong and regal anymore, they will take my position as head of the coven. You know the first thing they will do once they take my position. I-I can't let that happen. Y-you know I can't. "

I shushed her, "It's okay to be afraid, but know we will not let anything happen to you or Ray. We will keep you safe." I lowered my voice whispering, "You don't have to be strong in front of me. You'll never have to be strong in front of me. I'll protect you, Remmi."

And that was it. Her walls finally broken down. She looked up at me and I swear a little part of me died seeing the crestfallen look on her face.

She was broken, in complete and utter despair.

The jaggedness of her heart, this was the shut off version no one saw.

Her small quiet stream of tears suddenly turned into an ocean as pools of tears fell from her eyes in a scared, furious rush.

She lets out loud choked sobs. She whispered and cried, screaming in my arms while I rocked her back and forth. "It’s going to be okay, Remmi."

She cried wildly and I tightened my grip on her.

They were alike, Remmi and Anneliese. They gave up everything for the sake of others.

I heard a low growl coming from the front door consuming Remmi’s loud sobs and making them sound silent, in its wake. I shushed Remmi and crouch down next to her.

Her eyes widened as she wiped her tears away, presumably not wanting anyone to see the coven leader fall. Her nose and eyes were still red and she still had a slight tremble in her hand but other than that you couldn't tell she was any different than usual since now she had painted her façade back on her face.

Another loud growl tore through the hallways, this time much closer than before. There was a sound of footsteps angrily slapping against the white tile. Only stopping directly in front of the door.

Then it was silent.

Boom.

A foot came sailing through the door, breaking it with a loud crack. A large growl emitted from the door. An angry werewolf with a hoodie covering his face stood outside.

He kicked away the rest of the door and stomped in. His eyes fell upon the sight of Remmi crying, holding onto me tightly.

"You," he growled, showing a pointed finger into my chest. He was livid.

"What do you want?" I yelled at him, pushing a confused Remmi behind me and pushing his finger away from my chest.

"My mate!" he screamed possessively, grabbing me roughly by the collar.

"Look, dude, I don't know who you’re talking about but she probably flirted with me first." I said hotly, not realling caring about a mated wolf’s gigantic protectiveness about his mate, usually I would try and defuse the situation but I had no time for this, Remmi needed me.

He growled and then his fist connected with my jaw. I grunted in pain and fell roughly to the ground holding my face as Remmi screamed.

"You turned my mate, you insect!" he yelled finally taking off his hood.

Wait? What?

"You're the guy who hurt Anneliese!" I yelled, surprised.
