Bloodlust Part 3

Sebastian’s POV.

"Anneliese,” I called, running through the restaurant towards the bathrooms.

I swung open the door to the ladies restroom. The mirror was broken, the floor had blood all over it, and the wooden counter had claw marks all over it.

A guy was looming over Anneliese Pushing her hair back caringly. She was in the fetal position on the yellow tile floor.

My eyes went wild.

"Anneliese,” I said scooping her from off the floor.

"What did you do to her?” I growled at him, my fangs out and ready to attack.

River P. O. V.

"Huh, I would think a vampire should know when one of their fledglings was having bloodlust problems," I smirked trying to keep my facade but still wanting to kill him for not paying more attention to my mate.

"What-What do you mean?” he said, slowly letting his fangs retract.

"Are you an idiot?” I was unable to control my anger. "She was seriously about to suck a patron dry in front of the whole restaurant and you didn't even notice. I thought you guys were on a date but if you barely noticed then you must not really care about her."

"Wait, were you watching us?” He said looking flustered and guilty.

"No, but I did see a pretty girl come in with a stupid guy and then when she ate a rare steak; which by the way is stupid to do when you’re refusing blood, her eyes flashed red and she excused herself and you just kept eating and didn't pay attention to her even though it was obvious. Did you notice her digging her fingers in her skin to stop herself from sucking someone dry right there and then?” I yelled shooting lasers through his head in my mind.

"Dude, just calm it and tell me what happened. Did you hurt her?” he said.

"Why would I hurt my ma-I mean a girl?"

"Fine, whatever. Tell me what happened."

Flashback (still in River’s POV)

Strawberries.

I sniffed the air again. Definitely strawberries.

Oh no, I thought while my wolf danced excitedly.

My eyes darted to the cause of the enticing aroma.

Mate, my wolf screamed as I looked at the silver-haired beauty.

She had silver eyes and silver hair with red tips. Her hospital gown clung to her hourglass shape and on her small frail wrist was a hospital band that read:

V: Need blood.

She’s a turned vampire. She can’t be a turned vampire! That means she was once a human!

But wait, if she is a vampire she shouldn't need blood unless she refused to drink it.

Most vampires just grab the nearest vampire human or werewolf regardless of the laws because they could just blame it on bloodlust and get out of trouble with a warning (that is if you get caught.)

I narrowed my eyes when I saw the guy that followed her through the door, fingers tightly intertwined with her’s.

I growled but didn't say anything further I watched them while I ate chewing angrily at my bacon burger.

When their food arrived I saw as my mate eyed her extra rare steak hungrily.

Uh oh, it seems like she hasn't fed yet. Is she still refusing blood? What does she need it for anyways? Is she hurt?

I watched as she took a bite and her fork almost clattered to the floor. Her eyes widened and flashed red.

She stood up and excused herself, her nails digging into skin. The guy continued eating ignorantly.

I followed her as she ran into the bathroom.

She head-butted the mirror trying to gain control but only succeeded in making the process faster and her blood lust started to take over more rapidly.

Her eyes were flashing from silver to red at a dangerous rate. Once she gave up fighting her eyes stayed completely red, the blood lust finally taking over.

"Run." she whispered before she ran at me and sank her fangs into my arm.

I was pushed up against the wall as she tried to get her fangs into my neck. I cried out in surprise and let out my claws grabbing at the wooden sink, stall doors, and the walls.

I ripped her off of me before she could take more. She sunk to the ground whimpering. She said thank you, looking up at me with wet eyes.

I stood over her, pushing hair out of her face and murmuring comforting words into her hair. She was crying when the door was ripped open, a very angry vampire in the doorway.

How could I tell her she was my mate? How can I ruin her happiness if she is happy with him? What if I ruin my mate’s chance at happiness by making her mine?

My family would never accept a vampire, anyways.

"Ask her." I said loudly, planting a small kiss on her forehead and whispering, "I hope you never see me again, for your sake." I slipped out, leaving his question unanswered. I couldn't tell him she was my mate and I couldn't tell him what had happened. That was her story to tell and I was too dangerous to be nearby.
