Ray’s POV

I pitched the Blood Prince onto the floor.

The blood prince growled and I just stared at the horrid sight that was once the mysterious heart throb of a prince.

I looked away wincing and clutching my hand in slight pain.

He looked wild and out of control. His face was flushed and his usual nicely kept dirty blond hair was messy and unkempt.

He is usually very calm and collected, easily controlling his locked away beast but right now it looked as if  he was changing between the demon that terrified me and the friend I had come to know, every two seconds.

His eyes changed from a mixture of bloodthirsty black and red to a warm hazel.

I know what you’re thinking. Didn't he kill your friend but I-

"Too much said,” the author said before switching POVs.

Blood Prince POV

I couldn't control him and I was going crazy trying to.

I was too angry. I wanted revenge.

I couldn't keep any of my emotions under control. My beast was harnessing and controlling each of them. I didn’t fully want him to stop. I couldn't keep him in check.  But I had to, for Anneliese's sake.

I wasn't trying hard enough. And I knew I couldn't, not with my heart where it was. (in my heart I wanted to kill Sebastian, very much so. Slowly and painfully)

"Stop!" I half-heartedly commanded my beast.

'You don’t want me to,' he replied.

"Yes. I. Do." I said forcing out every word, trying to convince myself more than him.

'No, you don’t, not really. You want to kill him. Murder him in every way possible. Let him die a slow and painful death for forcing your mate into a fate she never consented.  He hurt her.'

I couldn’t think, But I-I. . .

I had to find a reason, some reason why I couldn't kill him. He's getting control of me again and I don't have anything to stop me.

'He will keep hurting your mate,' my beast said.

"No! No, he won't! She's strong!" I argued.

'Even if he doesn't hurt her, he will take her away from us. Remember how you found her? They were together.'

"I- The reason was . . . "

I lost control.

"No! No! She is mine! I-I I'll kill him!"

I was too far gone in my hatred.

I’m sorry, Toby.

Anneliese POV.

I slam my fist against the broken door, attempting to clear the pieces from the walk way.

"Remmi!" I screamed. "Remmi, what's going on?"

I heard her groan in pain and I wasted no time in knocking the remnants of the wooden door out of the way to run over to her.

"Remmi, are you okay?" I shook her shoulders as I examined her wounds. Her head was bleeding but it was only a cut on the back of her head.

I rested her head on my lap.

"H-help h-him,” she strangled out, pointing to the backyard door that had also been smashed in.

She had been swaying and was already noticeably losing consciousness when she uttered two words before jumping into darkness's cool embrace. "Help Sebastian."

I had gently put down her head and slid her to a corner of the room. I sat her up against the wall. "Please, don’t move. I'll be right back."

I ran through the door to see River or what I assumed to be River, standing before Ray. He hovered over Ray with a menacing aura and a twisted smirk while Sebastian lay on the ground.

Ray had a determined look on his bruised face. I could see a cut across his cheek and one on his leg, bleeding excessively.

"Ray! Sebastian!" I screamed. "Wha-what’s happening?"

Ray saw me and he immediately paled.

"Run! Run, Anneliese! I don't think even you can handle him now!"

River looked at Ray angrily. "No one!" He snarled. "Is Allowed to tell my mate to stay away from me! Who do you think you are?"

He said punching Ray in the face. Ray landed a few feet away. I watched in horror as River started stalking towards him. I looked for help but no one was there. I noticed Sebastian's unconscious body, the steady rise and fall of his chest, and Ray's position in front of a very sensitive River.

For a split second, I weighed my options.

I'm sorry, Sebastian, I'll come and get you later.

I can't hide.

River won't hurt me.

I know he won't.

I grabbed a piece of broken wood from the door and threw it at the ferocious River.

"Hey! Hey, you, River! Quit hurting Ray and why did you hurt Sebastian!!!"

He turned towards me and growled.
