Ashley's POV
-----'You're a what?!'
It's funny how they both can have the same expression and timing to ask that.
'A Flügel shifted. Or, winged shifter if you will.'
They must have never heard of my kind, well the history of my kind, before because they looked confused as students in exams.
I sighed and rolled my eyes at them, 'Basically I'm a shifter, but whatever form I take on will have wings. Does that make things clearer?'.
'Wait! So you're a winged shifter??!' Alex shouted and practically jumped off the couch.
'Yea, that's what I've been trying to te--'
'Oh my god! I've heard about your kind before! Jake, don't you remember mythological class? Flügels! They have healing powers and each can control one type of element! Oh my god! I can't believe your mate is a winged shifter! How does that even work?! Jake, don't you remember in class--' Alex was pacing around the room like a madman and rambling on and on. We had to shut him up by smacking him with pillows. I swear this guy will not stop talking!
For someone who looks like he's a CEO boss of a big company, his rambles are longer than the entire Game of Thrones series.
'So, was what Alex said true? You really are a winged shifter?' Jake's expression was unreadable. I frowned. Was he upset? Angry? Happy? Or maybe he'll reject me.
I cringed at the thought of it. Sure he kidnapped us, but I felt myself liking him more everyday, though he'd always ruin it with his Alpha commands and all..
'Yes, Alex is correct. I am a Flügel shifter,' I paused for effect, 'and the last of my kind.'
'Oh by the way, I'm human. 100% human ok?' Sam's hand short up and pointed towards herself.
'Erm... If you don't mind? Can we see what you can turn into?' Alex was fidgeting in his seat with a really excited look. Wow, someone must have paid close attention in.. Mythological classes, whatever that is. I nodded my head and got up, hmm lets see.. I say.. Wolf.
I closed my eyes and pictured myself in my wolf form. Soon enough, I felt my bones crack and patches of fur growing on my skin. My ears got longer and my face stretched out. My teeth extended and my senses were heightened even further. On my sides, I felt the bones stretching out and feathers sprouting.
I opened my eyes when I heard gasps, mainly from Jake and Alex. Ignoring them, I bounded over to a mirror that hasn't been smashed by Jake's earlier tantrum. I smiled, or at least, I felt myself smile, when I saw my reflection. I truly love my wolf form. No matter how many times I saw it, it still amazes me.
My right eye was my natural teal blue and the colors are swirly like the ocean waves. But my right eye, that's another thing, my right eye lost its calming blue and a blood red took over. I never really knew how something like this could happen but being me, I never bothered to find out. The fur underneath my eyes had a few strips like tribal markings. My fur was borderline between gray and black with my ears having black tips, same goes with the tips of my tail and paws. I tilt my head to the side to admire my wings. They were feathery and black as night, you wouldn't even notice I had them if it was dark.
A/N: Too lazy to find a picture sorry ya'll. Use the power of imagination, that's what books are for.
Update: ok nevermind. I edited a picture of Ashley's wolf form face.I felt a hand brush my fur and a purr was in my throat. This is the first time he touched me while we aren't fighting and I finally get to appreciate the feeling as he petted my fur and scratched under my ears. There was sparks everywhere he touched and my body was tingling.
