Friday Afternoon
In the executive offices of Reigns Enterprises, Brian, Kristopher and their lawyers, Dajon and Damian Banks, as well as A&R Managers, are in Kristopher's office discussing one of the latest Reigns Enterprise business ventures.
Tasha: so, the new music app will be ready in two weeks. All of our artists tour dates will be posted, new single and album release dates as well as any artist appearances.
Mickie: and you'll be able to purchase music directly from the app as well. We were able to secure a deal with Apple for links to iTunes and Apple Music.
Kristopher: what about the video featurettes and tutorials?
Damian: soon as we get the contracts signed by your choreographer, the tutorials will be ready to go.
Tasha: the video featurettes will be available as soon as the app is downloaded.
Brian: alright. Tasha and Mickie, thank you for your help. I'm sure you have plenty of work to do elsewhere so don't let us hold you up.
(Tasha and Mickie gather their iPads and folders and make their way to their own offices)
Kristopher: do you have the contracts ready to sign?
Dajon: (pulling a folder out of his briefcase) yup. Just waiting for the appropriate signatures.
Brian: great. (Pressing the intercom button) Ginnie, would you come in here please?
(Ginnie enters the office with a smile)
Ginnie: how can I help you, Mr. Reigns?
Brian: would you kindly escort Damian to the dance studios? He has some business to discuss with my daughter.
Ginnie: of course sir. Would you please follow me, Mr. Banks?
(Damian takes the folder from Dajon, gets up and follows Ginnie out of the office)
Damian: (walking beside Ginnie) Ginnie, did Mr. Reigns say I'm meeting with his daughter?
Ginnie: he did. His daughter, Kairo, is the director of our choreography department.
(Damian stops dead in his tracks hearing Kairo's name. Ginnie almost reaches the elevator before realizing the Damian is no longer next to her)
Ginnie: are you okay, Mr. Banks?
Damian: ah...yeah, I'm good. (Straightening his tie) please, lead the way.
(Ginnie and Damian take the elevator down two floors. She leads him to the Dance Wing and leaves Damian at Kairo's office door before heading back upstairs)
Damian: (taking a deep breath; knocking on the door) Miss Reigns?
Kairo: (searching her desk drawers) come in. (Looking up) how can I help you...Damian?
Damian: hey Kairo.
Kairo: what are you doing here?
Damian: (holding up the folder) I have some contracts...
Kairo: contracts?
Damian: I work for your Dad and Kristopher. I have the contracts for you to sign for the new entertainment app.
(Kairo and Damian stare at each other in silence)
Damian: (taking a tentative step towards her) Kairo, I...
(Kairo holds up her hand in protest and shakes her head. She crosses the room and closes her office down but doesn't turn around)
Kairo: (leaning against the closed door for support) eight years.
