Thursday
(A few days later, Kairo is in her kitchen filling her water bottle when someone knocks on her door)
Kairo: (checking her watch) who is it (walking towards her door)?
Dreux: it's me, Kai.
(Kairo comes to a dead stop just before her door at Dreux's voice. She hesitates before opening the door and laying eyes on Dreux for the first time in days)
Kairo: Dreux, what are you doing here?
Dreux: (holding her sport bag) relationship or not, we still have professional commitments to honor.
(Kairo gives Dreux a confused look)
Dreux: the workshop at your old high school today?
Kairo: you remembered?
Dreux: you're gonna let me in?
Kairo: (stepping to the side) oh...yeah...come in.
(Druex comes into the apartment and leans against the kitchen counter)
Kairo: I wasn't expecting you to show up.
Dreux: I can tell. I told you before, professionally, we're good. Our problems don't belong in the Dance Wing.
Kairo: I know. I'm just always surprised when you come around.
Dreux: I haven't stopped loving you...I'm just hurting.
Kairo: and I can't say "I'm sorry" enough.
Dreux: I don't need you to be sorry. You did what you did. I just need some time to figure out what I want to do.
Kairo: okay, Dreux.
(Kairo starts to head back to her bedroom)
Dreux: Kairo...
Kairo: (turning to Dreux) yeah.
Dreux: I still got you, Kai. I just need time.
Kairo: thanks, Dreux.
Dreux: go finish getting ready...I'll be here.
(Kairo wipes a tear before falling from her eye)
Dreux: if you cry, you're gonna mess up your make up and we'll be late.
Kairo: (laughing) okay. I'll be right back.
(Kairo disappears into the bedroom to finish getting ready. Dreux kinda wanders around the kitchen, helping himself to a bottle of water and feeling a little sentimental. 15 minutes later, Kairo re-emerges with her jacket and heels on, sport bag draped over her shoulder and make up re-touched)
Kairo: (picking up her water bottle) alright. Let's go support the arts.
(Ever the southern gentleman, Dreux takes Kairo's bag and opens the door for her. They head down to the garage; Dreux opens the passenger door to his car. Kairo hesitates before getting in and they drive off)
Kairo: you still have a key, how come you didn't let yourself in?
Dreux: I don't live there...I'm not just gonna let myself into your apartment.
Kairo: you're name is still on the lease Dreux.
Dreux: we'll talk about that later.
(Kairo looks out the window and they drive the rest of the 90 minutes in silence. They arrive at The Academy of the Performing Arts – they head inside and are greeted by the theater director, Sylvia)
