Monday
(Late Monday morning, Kile and Jordyn are hugged up on the couch in Kile's living room)
Jordyn: (looking out the picture window) first time I've stayed the night with you.
Kile: (kissing the top of her head) hopefully it's not the last time.
Jordyn: that's on you. (Sitting up) oh, I need to call Jenney. She's probably worried that I haven't come in yet.
Kile: stay with me today.
Jordyn: (getting up) you think both of us being out today is a good idea?
Kile: you've been training Jenney to be a manger for the new location. This can be her chance to show that she can do it.
(Jordyn walks off into the bedroom; she comes back out on her phone)
Cara: good morning, Sweets & Treats Café, this is Cara. How can I sweeten your day?
Jordyn: hey Cara, it's Jordyn.
Cara: oh, hey Jordyn. We were wondering where you were.
Jordyn: yeah, I meant to call earlier. I need to speak to Jenney please.
Cara: sure. Hold on.
(Cara puts the phone down for a second – Jenney picking it up)
Jenney: good morning, this is Jenney.
Jordyn: hey Jenney, it's Jordyn. I won't be in today. I need you to hold down the fort for me.
Jenney: oh sure. You feeling okay?
Jordyn: oh yeah. Kile and I are preparing for our upcoming meeting with Baileys.
Jenney: that is still so cool.
Jordyn: yeah. So call me if anything serious comes up. But I know you got this.
Jenney: thanks Jordyn. I'll see you tomorrow.
Jordyn: yup.
(Jordyn disconnects the call and turns to Kile, smiling)
Jordyn: so...you got me in your apartment all day today...now what?
Kile: come here.
(Jordyn walks over to the couch and kneels on the cushion between Kile's legs)
Kile: I'm gonna tell you something that not even my siblings know.
Jordyn: okay...
Kile: I think my parents are little disappointed in my career choice.
Jordyn: what?
Kile: all my siblings are in the entertainment industry...in some fashion...except me. I think my parents wanted me to follow them in.
Jordyn: I don't think that's true.
Kile: mostly my Dad.
Jordyn: have you talked to them about this?
Kile: nope, kinda like a low hum in the background.
Jordyn: Kile...you're building your own legacy, opening café's across Georgia, getting contracts with the city, collaborations with an international liquor company. And all by yourself. How could your parents, especially your Dad, not be proud of you?
Kile: I don't know, just something I've felt for most of my adult life.
Jordyn: have you talked to either of them?
Kile: no.
Jordyn: well, I'm pretty sure this isn't true. And from talking to your Mom yesterday, I'm sure she's your biggest fan.
