Chapter Fifty Two: This Moment

Ferrer's POV
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to serve as witnesses to the union of Katya Romanov and Ferrer Cavaleiro. Marriage is an opportunity to bind two souls forever." Okay... I can do forever. "These two have decided to embark on this journey together with love as their bond. Now I hear it's been a rough journey and no doubt you are both desperate to make it to your destination. I'm eager to marry the two of you so I'll get to it. Ferrer, do you take Katya Romanov to be your wife?"

The big question! "I do."

"Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect her, forsaking all others and holding only unto her?"

Katya is smiling sheepishly. Something is wrong. Will she say no?

"I do."

"Katya, do you take Ferrer Cavaleiro to be your husband?"

"I do!" Her response was quick. It's not a no but it's probably the baby. She's almost due. I hope she waits till her mother and I are married before she drops! Is there time to even get her to the hospital? I have delivered babies before but out of a lack of alternatives! It's not a pretty scene! I would rather cut a head open than see how a baby is born.

"Do you promise to love, respect, cherish and protect him, forsaking all others and holding only unto him?"

"Yes!" She answered.

"Wedding rings are..." Damn it! I forgot the rings! I looked at Dani. I sent her to get them. She covered her face when she saw me looking at her. Bruce moved swiftly to take hers and to bring over his.

"Did you forget the rings?

"Yes?"

She laughed at me easing the moment for everyone.

"Wedding rings are an unbroken circle of love, signifying to all the union of this couple in marriage. Ferrer, would you care go to go first?"

"This has been long over due. I kept putting it off because of my own personal fears but not anymore Katya. I want you in my life forever. With this ring I promise that I will always love you, cherish you and honor you all the days of my life. With this ring, I thee wed."

These blunders won't stop! Her fingers are swollen. Should I skip this? I can't. I slipped Dani's ring on her pinky. Our guests couldn't help but laugh. Katya suddenly kissed me. This feels right. If only we could end it here so that we can be alone already!

"Ferrer, from the moment i kissed you, i knew it had to be you. I've waited endlessly for this moment and I'm happy it's this simple away from any glamour." She took a moment to look at all our guests. "This way only our hearts matter. This ring is my promise that I will always love you, cherish you and honor you all the days of my life. Please accept it. With this ring I thee wed." 

She took my hand hastily. When the ring settled in place, I wondered if I'm dreaming or the flaky guy is finally m in anymore. This is our forever. I'm in it with both feet.

"By the power vested in me I now pronounce you Mr and Mrs Ferrer Cavaleiro. You may kiss your bride."

We were more than eager to make out passionately with our friends applause fading in the background. When we broke the kiss, it was because of the little groan she let out. I held her watching the fleeting frown on her pretty face. "You're not okay."
