XI. safe in my arms

Escaping a special grade was, in fact, anything but easy. The group of sorcerers had run throughout the school grounds with the special grade chasing them. Just when they neared an opening that led to the forest, the cursed spirit appeared on top of it and covered the exit with large branches.

In the time they spent running, a veil had been cast around the area. A heavy aura filled the surrounding air, especially with the special grade in front of them. Nakajima, who got hit by one of the branches, pressed the cut on her arm.

"Will you be alright?" Kamo asked as he took a ripped piece of his sleeve and tightly wrapped it around the wound.

The girl hummed, "The cut is deep, but I will be fine. The problem is this cursed spirit and its origins, not to mention the veil."

"It's probably the curse user who's working with it," Megumi inferred.

Haruki raised her eyebrow, "How would you know that?"

Megumi then explained how Gojo showed him and the others an image of two cursed spirits he encountered. When he did, the female wasn't there because she was in her room still coping with Itadori's "loss".

"Tuna mayo," Inumaki held up a phone sign using his hand.

"You're right. Let's call Gojo-sensei and let him know," the raven-haired first year took out his phone to dial their teacher.

Kamo, finished wrapping Nakajima's cut, looked at him oddly, "Wait... Do you actually understand what he means when he says that kind of stuff?"

"That's not important right now," Megumi held his phone to his ear as it rang. "Our enemy might use a domain expansion. I'm thinking we should retreat and join Gojo-"

In the blink of an eye, the special grade appeared behind Kamo with a fist out. He opened his right eye and a red marking that seemed like a scar appeared around it. The boy's ringing phone was punctured out of his hand as Inumaki prepared himself to use his technique.

"Don't move!"

The special grade froze up and was soon hit by Kamo's Slicing Exorcism and Haruki's Zephyr's Arrow. Although their techniques were strong, the cursed spirit was barely affected.
