XIII. yasohachi bridge

"It's been a long time since our last mission together, hasn't it?"

"Now that you say it, yeah. Our last, and only, mission together did end up badly with the special grade."

"Hopefully that won't happen this time."

"Yeah, please don't jinx it."

Nearly 3 weeks after the Exchange Event, the group of first years was assigned to handle a mission together. It had been a long time since they were grouped together, especially since most of their recent missions had been solo.

The group sat in an SUV with Akari Nitta, one of the auxiliary managers, driving it. Haruki sat in the front with a small tablet in her hand. She looked through the case's information as Itadori peeked over her shoulder.

"Taichi Kanada in Morioka. June. Osamu Shimada in Yokohama. August. Hiroshi Yamato in Nagoya. September. These three people died under similar circumstances, which were being stabbed by a cursed spirit at the entrances of their apartments. And all three of them, just days prior to their murders, have filed the same complaints to their property managers. They all claimed that they found the security doors left wide open. None of the other residents have any clue what happened."

Megumi commented on how none of the locations of where the victims were killed matched, while the pink-haired boy next to him questioned how the cursed spirits triggered the sensors.

"Apparently the cursed spirit made the door operating mechanisms go crazy, not the sensors," Nitta replied.

"Ohhh... Mechanisms?"

"Yeah. As for whether or not the same cursed spirit was behind all three, we couldn't make a decision based on the residuals. Too much time had passed by then, so we looked for connections between the three of them. We discovered all three attended the same junior high for 3 years."

Haruki tapped her finger on the door panel, "So that means it's most likely they were all cursed together, and the cursed spirit that did it is only acting now. How strange."

Nitta hummed, "Precisely. It's highly likely, so that's why we're on our way to the school now. We'll be picking up another man who knew all of the victims personally. I'm assigning you four as sorcerers to see what you can find out from him."
