"So are we ever going to learn where we're going?" Peter asks as we make our way towards the cockpit. I shrug.
"Gamora said we would find out today." I say, and he raises an eyebrow, pulling a fuzzy Midtown crewneck over his shoulders.
"When were you talking to Gamora?" He asks, and I shrug again.
"Last night. I had trouble sleeping. Apparently so did she." I explain, and he nods. "Oh, and she knows that we snuck out yesterday." I say as we near the cockpit.
"What?" He exclaims, and I have no time to answer him as the Guardians come into view.
"Ah, Lady Y/N and Lord Peter! How are you on this fine morning?" Thor booms, and I smile at him.
"Morning, Thor." I reply. "I'm good, thanks for asking."
"Nice of you to join us." Rocket snickers, and I shoot him a look. He returns it.
"Where are we going today?" Peter asks, changing the subject. It's clear to me that he's eager for our first mission.
"Torfa." Quill responds, and Peter and I share a confused look.
"What's Torfa?" I ask.
"And... why?" Peter adds.
"We're looking for a Skrull named Talos." Gamora says.
"What's a Skrull?" I ask, and Gamora rolls her eyes.
"The Skrull come from Hala, just like the Kree. The two races don't always get along, and there was a war between them years ago. Some Skrull refugees got away, and Talos is their number one target." Gamora explains.
"I am Groot." Groot says grumpily, and everyone gasps.
"Jesus, Groot!" Rocket exclaims.
"That was incredibly rude." Gamora says. I share another confused look with Peter.
"What did he say?" I ask.
"Nothing," Quill answers quickly.
"He said that you humans are uneducated." Drax answers, chewing on some snack that is definitely not from earth. I give Groot a shocked look.
"That was rude." I agree, shaking my head. "Let's get back to the conversation. Who is Talos and what is on Torfa?"
"Talos is on Torfa." Nebula responds.
"Well, we don't know that." Gamora argues. "His last known location was Torfa, where many Skrull refugees fled. There's a great chance he isn't there anymore."
"But ya don't know until ya go!" Quill shouts enthusiastically, a smile on his face. "Right, Gamora?" She sighs, rolling her eyes. She's clearly over Quill's constant good mood.
