Lanzhu x Reader

As I ate lunch in peace in the school courtyard, enjoying the cool autumn breeze, I couldn't help but smile as I thought of how things have been going, and that I've ended up falling in love with someone.

One day two months ago, I was meandering in the surrounding area not too far from my house when I saw a girl with long silver hair. Evidently curious about what she was doing, I walked over and asked her what she was up to. She enthusiastically told me that she was looking for wonderful places to go with her friends. I was a little surprised because the neighborhood is honestly nothing particularly great, but since I was free today, I offered to show her to some of the more interesting areas nearby and if they ended up catching her interest, then she'd have a place to take her friends. She agreed and from there, I spent the afternoon with her, showing off the few hidden gems in the area. It was honestly a pretty good afternoon, and for the first time, I had spoken to Lanzhu Zhong.

Six Weeks Ago...

As another normal, if not slightly dull day went by, I walked down the halls of Nijigasaki as I headed to the cafeteria for lunch. As I walked, I heard someone behind me say "There you are L/n, I was looking for you."

I turned to face the voice and saw it was Zhong, a girl who I'd shown around my neighborhood a couple of weeks ago and lately, I've ended up talking to a little bit when I run into her in the hall. From speaking to her I can get that she's a good person, even if there are times where she can say things that I have kind of mixed feelings about

"Hey, what's up?" I asked

"L/n, how about you come have lunch with me today?" Zhong said with a smile

I smiled a bit at her question and said "I actually have been kind of meaning to ask you that."

"You have?" Zhong said

"Yeah, you seem like a good person and I thought it'd be nice to become friends with you." I said

Zhong smiled and said "Well then, since we're going to be friends then, I'm glad that I had a special Chinese lunch buffet prepared for us."

"A buffet?" I said "To be honest Lanzhu, I would have been more than happy to just eat with you in the cafeteria, but if you've gone out of your way to prepare that, then I guess I will just have to pay you back for your kindness sometime."

Lanzhu smiled at my response then said "Then let's go Y/n!"

She then took my hand and excitedly guided me to where we were apparently having lunch

Since then, me and Lanzhu have become friends, and in the end I even have fallen in love with her. She's ended up a source of vibrancy in my life and I'm glad to have met that confident, charismatic, and enthusiastic girl. I'd like to tell her how I feel about her, but I admittedly worry that I might not be good enough for somebody like her. But while those doubts do come and invade my thoughts from time to time, I really do love her and so I want to press on anyways and tell her how I feel.

And so, after I finished my lunch I pulled out my phone and sent Lanzhu a text, asking her to meet me on the roof after club activities. With a confirmation from her shortly after, I took a deep breath and started to mentally prepare myself for what's to come

That afternoon, after classes and club activities came to an end, I looked out at the courtyard down below me, all those people down there living a normal, average day. But while for most people, today is just going to be the same as always, today is going to be so much more for me.

"I'm here Y/n, so what is it that you wanted to meet me here for?" a voice behind me said

"Hey Lanzhu." I said, turning to face her. I walked up so that I was directly in front of her and said "I called you up here because there is something important I want to tell you. Please hear me out, okay?"

"Of course I will Y/n." Lanzhu said

'Lanzhu, I love you. I know I'm not much, but getting to be beside you has made my life feel that little bit more vibrant and enjoyable. And in the end, the feelings of friendship I had for you have turned into so much more. Will you be my girlfriend?"

Lanzhu's smile grew and with a faint blush on her face, she replied "I love you too Y/n. I wanted to tell you that to you too." she then began to hug me as she said "Of course I'll be your girlfriend."

And as we hugged, I couldn't help but want to treasure this moment, as one where I ended up lucky enough to have the woman I love reciprocate my feelings for her.

One Year Later...

I sat in the living room, focusing on the book I had been reading to pass the afternoon, since I don't really have anything to do. It's been a month since Lanzhu and I graduated and since then, Lanzhu has headed back to Hong Kong. Even though she had asked me to come with her, I declined, telling her that as much as I love her, I couldn't. She acknowledged my feelings and with her gone, I've furthered my studies to try and learn Cantonese, and plan to come visit her whenever school is on break. Still, I really miss being able to talk to and spend time with the girl who I love so much. Things just don't feel the same without her around.

After the uneventful afternoon continued on for a while longer, I heard the doorbell ring and after I got up to answer it, I opened the door to see Lanzhu on the other side.

"Lanzhu, what are you doing here?" I said

"Huh? What do you mean?" Lanzhu responded confused

"I thought you headed back to Hong Kong." I said

"I did. But I'm back now." Lanzhu said

"Wait, I thought that you had meant you were going to go live in Hong Kong again." I said

Lanzhu shook her head and said "I do love it back in Hong Kong, but you're here."

This past month I've thought that our relationship was going to be long distance, only to find out that wasn't the case and she was just visiting home. I sighed and then began to smile as I said "We probably could have communicated better because I thought you were moving back to Hong Kong and that we were just going to have a long distance relationship. In any case, I'm glad to know that you're back. I've missed you this past month."

Lanzhu smiled and as came closer to me, she said "I missed you too Y/n."

As she got closer to me, I said "I love you Lanzhu."

We then shared an embrace, our lips soon uniting in a kiss as we did it. I'm so lucky, happy, and grateful to be with Lanzhu and I hope to be for a long time to come.

After our lips finally parted, and we looked at each other with love in our eyes, I said "Here's to our future together."

A/n: I gotta say, between Mia and Lanzhu, I like Lanzhu more. Sorry that this took as long as it did to come out. Part of what I was waiting for before I made oneshots for Lanzhu and Mia was for them to become playable and have their own bond episodes, as I find those good inspiration and help me understand the characters that extra little bit. In the near future, I'll be releasing oneshots for Mia and Liella intermittently alongside D4DJ and Bandori oneshots. I hope you'll enjoy what's to come.
