Today felt the same as always, I got up, went to school, and I went to do whatever popped into mind afterwards. I'm not a member in any club, I don't really care too much about that nowadays, and as of late I've been wanting to stay out of the house for as long as I can. And like so very often, as I was out I ended up going to a cafe I love going to. As I stood at the entrance, before I went in, I let out a sigh as I once again repressed words that I don't have the courage to say.

I headed inside and as I stepped in, a girl the same age as me with orange hair turned and saw me. That girl is Kanon Shibuya, a girl I've had feelings for for a while now. "Oh hey Y/n." She said "You know, I've seen you come by even more than usual as of late."

I've been a regular at her family's cafe for a while now and we ended up talking some, leading to us becoming friends. Or at least I've always thought, I feel like we're close but there's always been a nagging thought in the back of my head that I may be wrong. And whenever I try to ask her, the words won't come out. I'm normally fine when it comes to communicating my feelings to people, yet whenever I try to say them to Kanon, I end up unable to actually say them.

"Hey Kanon. Yeah, I guess I have been coming by more than before." I said, Kanon being someone who being beside helps improve my mood. I headed up and sat at the counter and ordered just a coffee for now.

The place wasn't particularly busy at the moment, so Kanon sat down beside me and I asked "So how are things going in Liella?"

"They're doing pretty good." Kanon said "We're actually preparing for a live that's gonna happen pretty soon."

"Oh really? That's awesome." I said "I'm rooting for you, you know."

Kanon smiled and said "Thanks Y/n. By the way, when I see you recently when I'm out, you seem different than usual, is something wrong?"

At that moment, I wanted to confide in her some, but like always the words just wouldn't come out. After a moment, I gave in and shrugged as I said "I'm fine, don't worry."

As the coffee I ordered was put in front of me, Mrs. Shibuya said "Hey Kanon, how about you go upstairs and take a break?"

"Alright." Kanon said, seemingly curious as to why Mrs. Shibuya said it so suddenly.

I enjoyed my coffee in silence for a while when Mrs. Shibuya said "Y/n, you know what's one thing that I enjoy running this cafe? It's that I get to see a tiny fragment of my patron's life."
"Um, alright..." I responded, unsure as to why she's bringing this up.

"For example, two patrons who ended up together recently got married. And I remember the way the man would always look at her before he told her how he felt. And whenever you're here, I see you look at Kanon the same way." Mrs. Shibuya said

I facepalmed myself before I took a deep sigh and asked "Am I really that obvious?"

"Oh don't worry, I don't think Kanon has noticed yet. But just confirmation, are you really in love with my daughter?" Mrs. Shibuya said

I took another sip of my coffee then said "Alright, I'll admit it, I love Kanon. Some circumstances in my life have kind of left me struggling, but when I'm talking to Kanon, those feelings feel eased. But as much as I want to tell her how I feel, whenever I try to talk about that or any of my feelings around her, the words just won't come out at all."

Mrs. Shibuya nodded as I spoke and said "I see. In any case, some customers are starting to come in so I better head off, but I'll just give you one little piece of advice: think to yourself why it is that you can't talk about such things to her."

"Right, thanks Mrs. Shibuya." I said

"It's not a big deal. Just look out for her if you end up telling her how you feel." Mrs. Shibuya said before returning to work
